Q: Am I Bad?

Hey girls,
a few of my friends are comin into town on the 25th and they wanted me to go out wit em for the night for a bit. Tim said he'd look after danica since he went out yesterday, the night before and hes goin out this weekend to go drink. So I said okay.... But im worried. I told em i'd have a few drinks (im breatsfeeding) so I consulted some nurses and my doc and my ped and a few other women who breastfeed/breastfed about having a few drinks and i've worked it out good.. Im gonna pump out some bottles and I cant let her feed for 24 hours after my last beer. But im wondering, does it make me a bad mom for going out for a few drinks? I feel bad and I dont wanna be a bad mom. She'll be 7 1/2 weeks when I go out. Im not horrible for going out for a few drinks am i??? Thanx girls...

Omg you're not bad at all love! It's very reponsible that you checked everything out with regards to breastfeeding her. Even though you're a mom you are still entitled to a life! Go out have fun with your friends & let daddy look after her-she'll be fine as long as you stick to what the docs told you.

Its good to get a break from it all after awhile, I think its been long enough. You still are you, and you still need to have a little fun once in awhile also. Its one time, its not like you are making it a habit. By consulting your doctors shows how much you really do care...And even by thinking you might be a bad mother(which you aren't)...Is showing how much you love and care about your daughter.

Girl don't think that way you are not a bad mother for going out and having a few drinks. You don't even do this often you do need a break and enjoy yourself. Plus it's fine with tim.

I think you should go and have a little fun. You are not a bad mom for doing that.

Here's questions to ask yourself when you think you are a bad mother

1)if you are doing something you consider questionable, do you think twice about it..
2)if you take precautions for when you do that "questionable"... Thing
3)do you ask doctor or nurses or motherly advice ahead of time?
4)do you arrange so child is cared for?
5)do you .T.R.Y to balance out time between personal life and motherhood in the best interest of your child?

If you answered yes to most of these questions, than you are a good mother Wink

No, I think its a great idea.
It gives you a chance to have some "me time".
You have covered the necessary, spoken to doctor etc and you are gonna pump for her so she won't starve.
It's not like you're planning on going on a weekend binge or anything.
Enjoy yourself guilt free, you'll come back happy you went and had a good time and danica will pick up on having a happy mom.

No that doesn't make you a bad mother sweetie! About 2 hours after I gave birth, I needed a drink or two... Laughing
