I heard that if you get b/c in the form of a shot you don't get your period if thats true then how do you know if your pregnant or not even if you still use condoms you never know.

Usually it takes 6 months to a year until you stop getting your period. Actually I was on the shot 4 months before I got pregnant but I got off of it due to the side effects. You kno what? I don't kno how they would kno if they are pregnant or not. I guess a pregnancy test... Laughing

Yeah thats what I was thinking but then you'd have to keep taking a pregnancy test every month or so just to be sure.

Well if you take the shot when you are supposed to...It should be effective right? Meaning you arent releasing an egg...So you wouldnt get pregnant, right? Or am I misunderstanding what you are asking?

Yeah, thats true. Or, if you kno yo body and start having symptoms, then you won't have to take a test that often. I would think if a person is on b/c and using condoms, she won't have nothin' to worry about but there's always that small percentage.

Your right lauren! If you take the shot right on time, you shouldn't have to worry about pregnancy becuz you are not releasing eggs. But there's some people that don't get them on time, those are the ones that have to worry about getting pregnant especially if its unprotected.

Yeah I think the pill is like 99.9 percent effective. There is always a chance! So you have to be careful! I'm not really sure about the shot!

I think the shot is more effective becuz it works for 3 months straight.
See with the pill, there's always a chance that you will miss taking one.

Yeah, it does. I was on it 4 months before I got pregnant. After the first shot, I never went back and got another because I started getting serious side effects from the shot.

I'm on the shot right now and it is soooooo wonderful! I never have to worry about periods or getting preggers.. I will know if I am pregnant becuase it's not everyday my boobs hurt and I start puking for no apparent reason. I doubt I can get preggy anyway. The only thing I don't like is the logistics of getting the shot,, all the paperwork, the exams, it can be a real pain in the ass! Lol, however i'm sure pregnancy is a lot more of a pain.. Everywhere so it's worth it! If you ever get it, get it in your bum! It hurt my arm sooo bad last time! Definitily the bum is where you should get it but try to alternate every once in a while.

My friend has been on the depo shot since she was 12 or 13. She is now 16. Anyways, she never gets her period, and I guess you will know by other pregnancy symptoms. Eventually, youll know that you are preggy. Depo seems to be very good...And I know some people once they get off of it and ttc they can't accomplish making a baby for a long long long time sometimes not even at all. In some rare cases, I had another friend jennifer who has 4 girls, and she got pregnant with 2 of them on depo. Not too sure what to tell you, just depends on your body !

I depends, all women are different. Some get a normal period, some get it all the time, and some don't get it at all.
