Hey everyone
i heard its normal for breastfed infants to go 2-3 days without a bowel movement but danica hasn't poo'd since saturday night and its tuesday mornin right now. Is this normal??? Im gettin a lil worried but my mom said it should be normal last night but she still hasn't poo'd. Should I call the maternitty ward and ask em? She sees the doc on friday but I dont wanna wait that long. Plz answer someone!

Nope its normal, up to 7 days is normal because there is not alot in breast milk that goes to waste..... Most and some times all of it is used and processed through the gut... So little to no poos, because it has not got a lot of nasties like preservitives and bad fat in it...... But it can some times go the other way and every feed there can be a poo......
I can remember one time with cailey she didnt poo for a week and I was stressing out over it ( I took her to the docter and he told me that it was normal) and when she did finally poo it was alot!!!!!!!!! So its ok for breast fed babies not to poo every day..... As long as bub is having plenty of wet nappies its all good!!

I think it is.. But I never let garret.. If he didnt go one day then the next day I would mix 1/2 oz apple juice and 1 oz water and it would make him go. My cousins doc told her to do that to her baby. I wont let him get constipated he gets in too much pain*

It may be. But she may be constipated. If she cries, for no reason, that could be it. Try this, first rub her tummy for about 15 minutes, wait an hour, and if she doesn't have a bm you can try this, get a glove, and you can use your pincky, but I would use a thermometer, that comes to a thin point. Put the glove over it, and lubricate her anus with some water, or ky if you have it. Stick it in, just a little. It shouldn't hrt her, then stir it around like a spoon. Do it for 30 seconds, and take it out. That should get her going.
