I'm probably the only guy on here, lol, but I just have a couple questions. I am 18 and my girlfriend and I have been having sexual intercourse for about a year. She has been on ortho tri cyclen lo for over a year and has never missed a pill. She has her period on the same day of every month so I it easy to tell when she will go on it. I am very precautious as I don't want her to become pregnant until we are married. She never misses a pill and I also use the pull out method as well.

My question is, earlier today we had sex and I think a little bit of precum may have gotten in her. We are just starting to have sex without the condom and I am a little nervous b/c I have heard many horror stories of woman getting pregnant while on birthcontrol. I'm sure most of those cases are with girls that forget to take their pills but still. She is a little more than half way through her pills for this month. I think she starts her placebos in about 4 or 5 days, maybe less. My question is, do you think I should be nervous if I got a little bit of pre cum in her? Also, is ortho tri cyclen lo just as good as regular ortho tri cyclen? I think her doctor gave her lo b/c she is 18 and kinda short (maybe not but thats just my guess). I looked on the lo website and it says how affective it is but I just want to know from you guys. Also, when is ovulation? I have heard somewhere that girls can get pregnant the easiest in the middle of their cycle. Well, my gf is a little past the middle. Also, I heard that it was right after your period. Which one is true? Sorry for all the questions, I jsut want to know if I have anything to worry about if she has never missed the pill and if I jsut got a little bit inside. Thank you and please dont label me as a clueless guy. Lol

As long as she takes her pills on time and doesn't miss any you shouldn't have anything to worry about. There's always a 1% chance that it could happen, but it's not likely. I wouldn't worry so much, it makes things a lot worse!

When your on birth control you do not ovulate. So if she takes her pills correctly she is most likely not ovulating. Ovulation (for a woman not on birth control) usually occurs sometime in the middle of their cycle but, everyone is different so ovulation could occur at anytime.

I think ortho tri cyclen lo is just as effective as ortho tri cyclen... I am on lo and was on the regular before my doctor switched me. She said that the lo version was just as effective as the regular version.

Yea, she has not yet missed one. She takes it at 10 pm and she alwasy takes it right around there. Sometimes at 9:30 but mostly around 10. I was only nervous b/c she is still considered mid cycle right now but she has not missed a pill and shes for the whole year she has been taking it she has only missed the pill once and that was like 4 months ago and she took it the very next day like shes suppose to. But yea, ok, I guess I wont worry

Smile I have been taking ortho tri cyclen for 4 years, and ortho tyi cyclen lo, for one year. I have always taken my pill on time. My husband and I never use condoms- so he always ejaculates inside me. (we did this even before we got married. (i'm 23) I haven't gotton pregnant yet anyway. I wouldn't worry about it. If she is late, then worry about it, but I wouldn't loose sleep over it. Your smart to be safe! Hope this helps!
