Lol, Ok a Question...
Posted: 09-13-04 12:49pm

Ok I noticed that if I have to pee, but I need to hold it for awhile before I can get to a bathroom, it brings on stronger contractions, and the almost kinda seem regular (but I never know cuz I never have a watch or nothin)... Lol this might sound kinda dumb or something, but is this good or bad? Lol do you think I should try and send myself into labor holding my pee Laughing

Lol but isnt it kinda bad to hold your pee when preggy? Im gonna go look in my book, I remember reading something about it, but I think it was something stupid like I can trigger uterine contractions Laughing I replyed to your post in my "swollen belly" post... I asked you some questions.

Just to clear that up- I replyed to freemanashleys post lol... Sorry erin, I didnt see your post until now. Ok I found it in my book... Its in the permature labor part in the 7th month, and it says "dont hold it in- making a habit of not urinating when you feel the need increases the risk that your inflamed bladder may irritate the uterus and set off contractions, so dont hold it in"...

Lol ok im holding it in!!! Im full-term. I want contractions bein set off!

Holding your pee does give you contractions, whether it will make you go into labor or not I don't know. You could try and hold it for a little while to see what happens, but having a baby on your bladder I don't know how long you could hold it. Good luck.

Lol I ended up holding it for a good hour the other night cuz I feel bad when I make ryan have to put away his dog so I can go pee... And kevin said we were gonna be leaving soon, but it ended up being an hour long soon lol. I was just about to pee my pants. Lol every step I took I was suprised that I didnt.

Don't hold your pee, it can cause an infection or something, and you don't want that on top of birth!

Ive never heard of it causing an infection or anything. I heard it actually helps building up those muscles that help hold it in... Lol which are important for when you get old, so you dont pee your pants Wink

I should work on that then, lol. But actually I think holding ur pee in gives you a uterine infection, 'cuz I used to always do that and I developed an infection, that could cause my baby to have a kidney disease, but the doctor gave me some antibiotics and its gone now :]

Lol that would probably be a urinary tract infection... It can spread to your kidneys and irritate your uterus, and do things to the baby. Lol I lied I guess. Haha I just remember you can get uti's from holdin in your pee. Lol I wont hold it in enough to cause myself to get an infection.

haha thats good then. I got mine 'cuz in school I hate using the bathroom since it's all dirty. So i'd pee in the morning and then a couple of hours after I got home from school, and again before I sleep sometimes. I dunno I got used to it, 'cuz now I hardly ever pee, probally only like twice a day! Lol.
