Mono...
Hello Smile I also have mono. I got it in april I believe, so I haven't had it as long as you have but I still have it longer than normal. My glands are still somewhat swollen, my throat is very enlarged as are my tonsils, and i'm still fatigued but not as bad. In my personal opinion and experience stress and anxiety can keep mono going. You probably don't have mono still, but the symptoms are remaining. If you are stressed try to relax, meditate, yoga, etc.. And do you eat healthy? That was part of my problem too, I didn't eat as well as I should have. I feel how you feel though. Maybe you have chronic fatigue syndrome. 10% of people with mono go on to that. It's basically the same thing from ebv virus and has same symptoms. Ask your doctor. Hope I helped Smile

Have you had a recent mono test done to confirm its still mono? Have they done any recent throat cultures to determine if maybe your throat is infected? I had mono when I was in 8th grade but got over it in 3-4 months. However a couple years ago I started getting sick and could never get better and it turned out my tonsils were super infected (the doctor said they were rotting - gross I know) and I had to have them removed last year. I was having the same problems you described, constant sore throats, swollen glands, constantly tired. Once I had my tonsils out it was amazing the difference I felt. I hadn't realized how bad I had been, how tired I had been, until I was better. You might want to have your doctor check to see if you do actually still have mono or if some kind of throat or tonsil infection is causing you problems. Hope you get some answers soon. I feel your pain!!

Thanks
I was retested for mono in july and it was still active. I went back to the doctor to get more tests run today. I've had chronic sore throats since about 7th grade and I had my tonsils out in 8th grade but the sore throats came back. Ahh I just wanna feel good again!

It sounds like you might have chronic mono...?

I dont' know. When I had mono I was so incredibly bored and did a lot of looking around on the internet. I found out it has a lot to do with your liver, because it filters your blood to help get infections/bacteria/toxins out and so you need to do things that are going to help your liver...I posted somewhere else that my mom's friend gave me this stuff called monobrex, I think I can't remember and i'm pretty sure it helped, I was only out like three and a half weeks which I think was too long but I hear that was pretty good.

Also, if you're not to scared by it, you could consider doing a liver detox? Basically it's like eating really healthy for a while (a couple weeks) and sometimes taking some different kinds of suppplements that have a bunch of vitamins and other stuff in them. You can find that kind of stuff/information anywhere on the internet. From what I found it can make a huge difference

i feel the same way! I was diagnosed in january and still feel like hell! I am 27 years old and can't get rid of the symptoms! I am very tired and flu-like, mainly achy! I have been to the doctor several times in the past year, have had a ton of blood work, which is now back to normal, but still cannot get over feeling sick! What do your doctors say and what are your symptoms?
