Q: Virgin With Questions :)

Not sure if i'm posting this in the right place.

Hello, i'm 15 and i'm a virgin. I've heard/read so many stories about the first time. Some people say it hurts a lot and some people say it doesn't hurt at all. Also, what's this whole "pop the cherry" thing? Does it bleed after you have sex or not? I've heard/read both answers before. The reason i'm asking is because I am about to get on birth control and will be having sex soon. I want to be prepared and all. Rolling Eyes

Hi there.Every woman is different. Some bleed a bit others don't.I've never heard of anyone bleeding like you have your period for many days or anything like that.If you are very active and play a lot of sports, you could have ruptured your hymen already. If you use tampons, same thing.I wouldn't worry so much about the hymen,i would be more focused on you becoming sexually active. You are young(but,so was i,so who am I to judge??!!),you only have one first time,so try to be sure that this young man is worthy of your viginity.Your partner will probably be done waaaaay before you're even ready to experience pleasure.Make sure that you are well lubricated and use a condom as well as a birth control method. You are very fertile at your age.Be safe and take care.Patty

I've been with my boyfriend for almost 2 years now and we have an awesome relationship, so yes he is worthy of my virginity.. And I am worthy of his as well. :d i'm about to get the patch and we will use condoms and lots of lube, as I heard that you can never have too much lube.

But as for the hymen, I use tampons so I would assume I broke it already. Is that the only thing that bleeds?

Thanks for your help patty!

Yup, your hymen is most likely the only thing that will bleed. However, depending on the girth of his penis and the size of your vaginal opening, you could possibly tear it a little. Its not common, but it can happen. Like you said, using lube is a great idea and will prevent tearing!!

Dont worry about bleeding tho, you probably wont notice it until you go to the bathroom. If you're worried about making a mess or something, just lay a towel down under ya!

Sounds like you have it all covered!Be sure to use a non-oily lubricant-no vaseline or baby oil!!These can cause the condom to break.I like astroglide.Patty

Oh, fyi--just because you're a tampon user does not mean that your hymen is bpoken already. The hymen is extremely elastic, and a tampon is not guaranteed to rupture or break it. So don't fret if you still bleed youp first time.

My hymen was already broken when I lost my virginity, and i'm naturally well-lubricated, but my first few times still hurt, `ecause my body wasn't used to aacommodating...Well, you get the idea. Be prepared to deal with some discomfort and/or pain. Relax, take it slow, and communicate with your boyfriend. Eood luck Wink

Everyone's different with regards to these matters-for me I found it agonising for the first 10 times or so.It still hurts a bit now & that's 3 years on.I recommend taking lots of time-make sure you are serious enough about this person so that you trust them & feel comfortable with them. The most important piece of advice we all can give you is to make sure you use precautions such as the pill and condoms.Be safe & be careful

Hey, I don't sleep around.. Plus its not like sex is bad for you when you're responsible about it. You want to know when sex is bad? When you're young and you don't use protection like my 13 year old cousin did. She's pregnant.

But don't forget that condoms don't always block all stds... And you can't see them all the time... Be careful Cool

anyway though... My "cherry" didn't "pop" until the second person i'd been with because the guy I lost my virginity to was rather...Um...Short I guess you'd put it... Lol. So it really surprised me the second time. All it is is like your period when it's super light for an hour or 2. And mine didn't bleed 'til we were done. All I did was put a tampon in, and tada... All was fixed. Good luck girlie!!! :p

Alot of Pain
Id like to share my my first experience wich was horrified I started having sex with my 3year relationship bf about 6 months ago and I have to say it hurt like hell I was like extra tight, I had tears in my eyes we had to try 4 times b4 he actually broke me in (poped my cherry) eachd day he would go in slowly and I would back off coz of the pain and then when he finally broke my hymen it hurt so much I was going to cry and I bled like hell he said his never seen so much blood im not over exagerating but the blood filled the hole sheets I though it was like lil droplets but it wasnt it just wouldnt stop bleeding we both freaked out we didnt evn have sex he just broke it , I still bled the next day n the 2nd time we actually had sex I still bled but 3rd time ididnt we were releaved we thought it wasnt normal we tried like 10 times b4 I was actually not hurting anymore comfortable with sex. So be prepared if you going to do it coz I shore wasnt I didnt expect the first time to be how it was but I dnt regret it coz were geting ingaged (but his in jail rite now) and im 2 months pregnant also we were planing to ahev a kid anywayn when he gets out will get married.

I know you weren't trying to scare me, I just didn't know it could be that bad. I know everyone's different but I just wanted to get an idea of how bad/good it can possibly go. I always heard stories that it's soo horrible, but I never heard it from a reliable source. Thanks for the info!

Lol, here to pop your cherry means lose your virginity, which sounds really wierd if you didn't pop your cherry until the 2nd guy you slept with Confused

I didn't bleed when I lost my virginity, but I put that down to lots of horse riding - sports where you squat a lot, or like horse riding can stretch the hymen.
Although I found it impossible to use tampons until after I had had sex a few times. Shocked

we're not encouraging sleeping around! We're encouraging being safe, reponsible & careful. If this young girl wants to sleep with her boyfriend then it's not our business to tell her not to-we can only tell her how to be safe if she chooses to. It is ashame though that people don't value their virginity anymore-people don't realise what a big deal/big responsibility that sex is!!!

I value my virginity and I do realize that it's a responsibilty, that's why i'm being safe about it. I don't want you guys to think that just because i'm 15 I don't have morals. Confused

Sally: i'll let you guys know what happens but it may be a while because I have to go to the doctor to get the patch when I get a chance. I just started my period so now I have to wait a few days, and then I have to wait for the patch to kick in. I hope I don't bleed alot but I can only do so much to help it go smoothly, so wish me luck please. Laughing
