Q: What's Wrong With Me?

My name is kelly, and i'm 18. I have been wondering about lots of things lately. It started as my sex drive going down. My boyfriend and I have been together for about 9 months now. It seems like every time we try to have sex it hurts and feels rough on me. And after a while it burns sometimes. We don't use condoms and he pulls out (i know it's horrible, and I told him next time we have sex he better have a condom because I get paranoid), and I was wondering if it is just irritation from having sex without a condom. But then I started getting this white discharge every day. I know it can be normal to have some, but it just seems like there's more than usual. And i'm also a week late on my period. I took 3 pregnancy tests (cuz I get really paranoid) and they all came up negative. I even took one this morning right when I woke up (which is supposed to be the best way to go) so I know that's not it. What's wrong with me?!? Confused Sad

You might have a yeast infection, it would cause the discharge and the burning sensation, but it don't think it would cause you to be a week late for your period,

you could be late because you're stressed out thinking you might be pregnant...By the way you could still be pregnant, what you two are practicing is not birth control and you can get pregnant using the withdrawal method, and sometimes it can take time before a pregnancy test is positive.

Go to a clinic, find out if you have a yeast infection. If you do, once it clears up you'll be feeling better physically and your sex drive might just come back on its own, and if you find that you feel to dry during sex, use a lubricant...That's what they're made for! Smile and start using condoms or some form of birth control, you are playing with fire going the route you two are.

You know what they call people who use the withdrawal method for birth control?

"mommy and daddy"

You really need to see a doctor. You could have something more than a yeast infection.Left untreated some types of infections can cause sterility and other reproductive problems. While you're at your doc's-see about some method of birth control. No use making yourself nuts every month.Good luck to you.Patty

Hippychick, if you are offended by that, go and ask on the teen pregnancy side of things what methods of birth control they were using.

I'm not offended at what you meant, because I know and i'm doing something about it, but I just didn't like how you worded it. But there's no reason to sit here and argue about something stupid.

You guys might not care, but I thought i'd share my outcome with you all.
I went to the gyno today and he said everything looked normal and that I didn't have a yeast infection or anything. I think my period being late has to do with stress... There's a lot going on in my life right now. And I think the pain during sex and all that is because of skin rubbing. You'll be happy to know my boyfriend and I are using condoms and doing things right... Not the scary way. And i'm starting my birth control pills on my next period!! Yay!!! No more worry! At least, not near as much!!!

Thanks for the update, i'm glad to hear you got to a doctor and got it all checked out, and congrats on the move to birth control. And don't foget about the lubricant, in my own experience sex is drier with a condom than without.

Hey, just a thought, but maybe you should try some ky jelly or something, you might become irritated just because you are dry down there.

First of all I have been using the withdraw method for 9 months with my bf and I still haven't gotten pregnant! So no ones calling me "mommy and daddy" yet! Any ways to my point a very similar thing has been happening to me... I've been feeling like my insides were bruised when my bf put me in certain positions... Alot of ppl have told me to see a gyn because it's a sign of a cist. I'm not sure if that's true yet, but you might want to go to the doctor and get some answers!

I like astroglide lubricant-it is a silicone base and doesn't dry out at all!!Smooth sailing!!! Smile also be sure to never, ever use baby oil or vaseline as a lubricant. The oils can cause the latex to break down-or tear!!Patty

Hello! I'm 28 yrs old and for 3 years my husband and I used the withdrawal method. Then when we were ready we tried to get pregnant and it worked on the first try. So I think if the man does it right the withdrawal method does work. But i'm sure I will get many people say that its not true. All i'm saying is this method worked for us for 3 years. My son is 7 years old now and i'm on birth control pills cause I want my husband to enjoy the experiance of cuming inside me.

I used condoms before him, you would not want to do this method with just anyone. I was married so I wasn't worried about std's.

Exactly.. We are engaged so I don't have to worry about stds either. And we've been doing the withdrawal method for 9 months as well, but just so i'm not paranoid, i'm taking the pill and using condoms, because since I also have anxiety, I thought that will relieve a lot of stress!!! Hehe, about the discharge... I think that some is normal... Am I right?? I mean I have white discharge a lil bit sometimes. I think I was just freaking out because all those other things. The feeling of pain when having unprotected sex I think is just because you might just have raw skin in there because of rubbing... Try a condom with some lube, it's helped me a lot!!! And your uterus might be curved backward like my doctor told me mine is... Instead of it being straight, it leans back a bit, and that's perfectly fine, but that is what could be causing certain positions to feel uncomfortable or painful. Good luck!

Kelly
