Jenn...Did you say that you take cyclobenzeprene to help you sleep? If so, have you ever found yourself building up a tolerance to it?
Thanks,

Hi ladybrannon,
i do take cyclobenzoprene ( aka flexeril) along with the amytriptiline, which is a nerve blocker to help me sleep. I find that the cyclo... Helps relax my muscles a bit and the amytriptiline makes me drowsy. The hardest part I have with sleeping is, I can't get comfortable, too much back pain. Amytriptiline is an antidepressant that they found makes a great nerve blocker. I try not to take it to much because I have been depressed and treated on meds before.
All the cyclo.. Has done for me is relax me a bit. I don't think I have built up a tolerence to it. I only take at night when my back is really bad. The doc's told me it would make me really drowsy but it doesn't.
Have you taken it before? For what?
Cheers,
jenn

I take it to help me sleep. At first, it worked really well. Now, not so well. The problem is that I don't know if I am building a tolerance to it or I am trying to fight off a flare.
I have a nasty tendency to not sleep when I am about to go into a flare and I mean almost *nothing* can make me sleep during that time. *sigh* I hope this is a tolerance thing.
Thanks,

Hi
Hi ladybrannon,
i hope it is a tolerance thing to. Nobody needs a flare. Do you have pain in the night time or just insomnia? I have taken several things to help me sleep. I find the best way to aviod building a tolerance to meds is to alternate. If I take a tylenol, the next thing I take will be an atasol. I actually keep track of this. The only thing I don't alternate are my prescriptions, but I do change antiboitics from one visit to the next.
I know what you mean about meds not helping you sleep. I had a shot of demeral/gravol on wednesday night and I went home and went for a walk. It didn't even make me drowsy.
Keep smiling,
jenn

insomnia
I have regular insomnia but don't want another drug to be dependent on to sleep Any suggestions on a natural sedative that never fails?

Something with a high melatonin count
Tart Montmorency Cherry Juice
also you could try Valerian and or PNT 200
Just make sure that anything you are currently on will not have any interactions even with "natural" products
I have tried and have had these all help in different combinations of these particular sedatives
