Hi, i'm 15 years old and I want to get the pill. I've talked to my parents and everything so now I just need to go and get it. I'm posting because I would really like some suggestions, like your opinions on the pill vs. The patch or what I should expect at the gyno's office. I want to be prepared so any suggestions on the subject of birth control would be great. Thanks in advance. Smile

No one can really tell you whether you'll fare better on the pill or patch, your doctor will do a family history after which she'll perscribe a pill for you. If you really want to go on the patch tell her, and she'll tell you if you're eligible. The patch has the same hormones as combination pills (though in different amounts), it's really just personal perference combined with trail and error. If you're worried about forgetting another option is nuvaring, which you wear internally for 3 weeks then take it yout for a week to get your period.
Many doctors will write you a 3 or 6 month perscription for you birth control method after which you'll go back and discuss how it's working for you.
Best of luck!

Thanks to the both of you for the help! And as for the pill vs. Patch thing, my mom wants me to get the patch. I've read they work just as good and all but hearing it from someone who uses it would be much more reassuring. So is anyone here using the patch to confirm that for me?
