Hi erlybo
i have been taken lexapro 10 mg for 3
months now and I am doing great on it.
Before I started taken it I was depressed
very bad to the point that I wanted to
kill myself and after my doctor put me on
this drug it took about 3 weeks to work
and every since I have not been depressed
at all.
As far as side effects the only one I have
from it is loss of appetite and that is it
but I make myself eat and that is not a
problem. I take 0.5 mg xanax 3 times a
day to help with my anxiety and from what
I can tell the lexapro does not seem to
help with my anxiety but the xanax does.
Everybody is different with drugs and you
never know what will work for you until
you give it a good chance to work. Good
luck to you and hope you do well on the
lexapro
what mg are you going to take like
I said the lexapro has done great for my
depression oh yea I was
depressed for over 4 years before we found
the right drug for me that worked.
Good luck

my dr just prescribed me 10mg of lexapro
for anxiety. The first 2 days I took it,
I felt very relaxed, could almost say, I
was just "chillin" then after the 3rd
day. I felt nothing. I feel the same
way I felt even before I began taking this
medication. So, I dont know what's up
with it, some people say it takes about 4
wks to go all the way in your system.
What do you think??

I was on lexapro for about 6 months and
did really great on it. It didn't start
working until about 2 weeks...It takes
time to build up in your system. I had
no side effects with it, so it worked
great for me. But different people
respond to different things. I was on
effexor but it didn't do much for me.
Stick with it, though. Give it a month
or so before you decide that it isn't for
you.
Good luck!

Thanks for your advice. Let me ask you
one more thing, what kind of changes
should I expect to be diffrent? Like
right now, I am just so frustrated that I
dont feel any diffrent and was ready to
give up on this. How diffrent did you
feel on it?

Sanchez,
i have anxiety and ocd, so when I was
talking it, I didn't really notice a
change at first, but others around me did.
I was much happier and carefree. I
found the capabilities to stop obsessing
over certain things (ie, having to clean
house constantly, having to sleep with the
tv on, having to check the lock on the
door before going to bed). Also, I had
some dizziness that cleared up. I'm
thinking about going back on it because
i'm having some trouble with the dizziness
and my anxiety is starting to get out of
control.
For me, it calmed me down and I was able
to function without so much worry. I
still had worries, but they were not as
severe or I didn't think about them
constantly.
Hope this helps! Lexapro did a great
wonder for me; hope it works for you too.
It takes at least 2 weeks for things to
start changing, though, if it is going to
work. Ask your doctor how long you
should wait before you decide to try a
different medication. I would think a
month, but i'm not a doctor!

I'm still going thru that stage. I am so
picky and worriying about little things
like that all the time. I get tired of
it and try to sit still but I can't. My
dr thinks I may also have adult add but
we're still evaluating for that.

Sanchez,
i never even thought about add -- I may
have it too, who knows?
How are you feeling today? How long have
you been on the lexapro, by the way?

Dianna,
my dr thinks I may have adult add only
because I have 1 son who is on it and
another who is being evaluated. Also,
the symptoms I have are those of add. I
have been on lexapro for 1wk and 4 days
now. By the way, my name is diana too!!

Well, hello diana with one "n"!!
I hope the medicine will start to help
you. Are you feeling any better today?
I was on effexor for about a month, but I
didn't feel like it helped me any, so they
switched me to lexapro, which worked.
There are so many different meds, though,
and if lexapro isn't working, there is one
that will!
My daughter exhibits add-like behaviors,
but has not been officially tested. I
hate the idea of her being on medicine.
For the most part, she is fine, just at
school is where she has problems.

Dianna,
i am feeling the same today. I really
think that this lexapro is not the one for
me. The first 2 days I felt diffrent and
I thought wow! This is going to work for
me. Then on the 3 or 4th day, I felt the
same. May just be that I dont need
lexapro but instead the medication for
add. I'm going bk to my dr in 2 wks for
further testing. At school is where my 7
yr old has problems too but, every dr we
have seem has told me he is fine that it
is juts the teacher who needs to give him
more attention! I dont want him in
medicine either. But for me, I think I
am old enought to know what is best for me
medication or not you know??
