Childhood Seizures

Hi, my four year old daughter has had 4 seizures so far. The last one was last night and the one before that only three weeks ago. The other two were about a year apart. She will get a fever out of the blue , I put her head on a cold pillow and a cold patch on her forehead then put her into bed to try and prevent a seizure. I heard I should give her some paracetamol as soon as she gets a fever too ,is this right? She is not on any regular medication. Is there anything else I can do to try and prevent these seizures from occuring? (i realize I cant stop it completely) the doctor said she will more than likely grow out of it before she hits puberty which is good news. I also had this condition when I was a child. I grew out of it although I had to take medication for many years. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes it is right to give paracetamol as soon as ur daughter gets a temp. I have found with my little boy that if he gets a high temp a seizure usually follows not far behind.

Often if seizures are only with fevers they are outgrown, possibly even earlier than puberty. I hope this is what will happen with your child.

You are doing great with the cool pillow and the medication to keep the fever from spiking! Sounds like a good job!

Hang in there. Seizures are scary. Hoping things stay calm for you and illness stays away!
