I got my first yeast infection when I was 11 years old...And apparently I have continually had one ever since. I've never really noticed that I had one until recently when I started to have sex. I figured it was just because it's supposed to hurt the first time. But now I am almost dreading to have sex because it hurts all the time and it's been almost a year of having sex. I read in a magazine that diabetes can also cause continuous yeast infections and perhaps that's the cause of it. I would just like to have someone else's feedback on this matter, if at all possible. Thanks!

Are you on birth control pills? I suffered with constant yeast infections while on the pill. I went to the depo shot and it cleared it up. I just got my first one this year. Thankfully it's cleared up. Have you gone to your doctor to be positive that it's a yeast infection and not something else? I would check for sure. If it is, he or she may be able to put you on an antifungal medicine regularly to battle them. Some people get them constantly and never know why. I would go to the doc though and get checked out for sure and see what they say. I know diabetes can cause them in some women. When I first went to my doc about having them, the first thing he did was test me for diabetes. It was through trial and error that I figured out I had to go off the pill. Good luck.

Sometimes(not always, sometimes),your diet can be partially to blame. If you eat a lot of refined sugars and carbs, these foods actually feed the yeast beast!I had a huge problem when I first went on the pill.I had one right after the other and could not get rid of them!I read somewhere that diet could be partially to blame.I went off all refined sugars and starches for a few weeks and took diflucan(oral med for yeat infections)daily for a few weeks. There are some books out there that will tell you more about yeast free diets.Do a search on google or whatever search engine you have. You should be able to find out more info there.Best of luck to you!Patty
