Q: Switching From Ortho Lo to Alesse

Hey, I just figured i'd try this again. I'm about to start alesse(or levlite) in a week after i'm done with this cycle of pills. I'm on ortho tri cyclen lo right now. I was switched to alesse because my periods started normally but lasted 10 days. So I just wanted to know has anoyone been on alesse or levlite here and did they have a good experience? Was there any spotting or bleeding?

One thing that confuses me is that alesse has slightly less estrogen in it then otcl but has more progestrone potency (i think). Any idea how that could help?

Alesse Switch
Hey,
i have been on alesse for over 5 years now because I was switched from ortho-cyclen (made me very sick!) and I have been very pleased. I didn't have any spotting or period problems at all; if anything it seemed to make them shorter and a little less crampy. You may find that the lower dose gives your body enough of a break to help you get your periods stable. I have been with my husband for the 5 years I have been on it and we have not had any "pregnancy scares" either. I hope this helps and feel free to post anything else that I may be able to help you with! Good luck.
