I've been on the pill a while, and I was wondering if taking the last 7 pills in the dialpak are necessary? I heard they were just "reminder pills" which are meant to keep you on a schedule of taking the pill, but aren't really necessary...

I haven't been taking these because when I do, I can't sleep at night. I haven't been having sex either- i'm a virgin!!!

The "reminder pills" are just sugar pills. With nothing in them. They are just there to keep you on schedule with reminding you to take the pills, and when you gotta get new pills and any other wierd reason you can come up with. Lol I never took my reminder pills. I just threw away the pack once I got to them.

Hmm... Lol but I dont wanna cause you to get preggy if the ones you are on have something in them... They are supposed to be nothing, but your on that ortho-tricyclinlo crap or however you spell it lol. I dont know if its any different with that. But I dont think it would be, since your body needs a break from the hormones to be able to get your period (all b/c does is trick your body into thinking its pregnant, and if you were to take the regular pills all the time, without 7 day breaks, then you wouldnt get a period.)

Yeah, I found the website for my pill, and it says the last seven are "reminder" pills, so i'm certain they're optional.... I think my doc may have mentioned something about them too, but I cant remember.. Lol!

They should just be sugar pills... But I dont know why or how it would affect your sleep wether or not you take them... Maybe your body just has a weird little withdraw from the hormone?

I was on the same birth control as u (ortho-tricyclen-lo) I stopped taking it though because it messed up my stomach. But anyways those last 7 green reminder pills are like vitamins they are good to take. I used to take them and then right after I finished my last reminder pill I would take the 1st pill in the next pack. If u miss a green reminder pill dont worry because there isnt any hormones in it. Why are u on birth control if your a virgin ??
