Q: About Birth Control....

Ok I was on the pill for 2 months after my 6 week post-partum appt. And then my insurance ran out. My mom is in the process of getting new insurance because of her promotion, but I had a question.

I want to get back on birth control, but if I say something to her she will probably think I am having sex again, which i'm not, but I want to be on it just in case ya know? But I don't want her to make a big deal about it, so do you guys think I should tell her I want to be back on it, or just go to the clinic and get on it myself? Thanks in advance!

If you really think that she will over-react, then I would just go to the clinic and get them yourself. Your clinic will give them to you free right? Since you are under 18.....That is what I would do just to avoid unnecessary drama. Good luck!

Thanks and yeah I can get them free. I hate not telling her but I just dont want her to be making any unnecessary accusations that make us both mad. But when and if I do have sex again, I dont want another baby. As much a I love mine, I dont want another for a loooooong time! Lol!

Yeah I understand where you are coming from. I am 25 and still don't tell my mom some things like that just to avoid unnecessary drama. Sometimes I feel bad too, like I am lying to her, but if I would tell her she would get the wrong impression.
I definately think you just going to the clinic is best. In the long run she will just be happy that you got back on birth ctonrol with or without her knowledge!

If you can get the pill at a clinic, then go ahead. If for some reason, you can't,tell your mom what you just said here. You want to be on the pill for reasons other than for birth control and want to be prepared in the event you do become sexually active again.Personally,i would rather know that you were on bcp's than pregnant again.Sometimes, parents over-react when they think you are making mistakes(especially ones that you have already made).Give her time to see that you are trying to be a responsible person .You may never have to let her know that you are on the pill, but if it ever comes up,don't lie to her.Be honest, not hearing the truth is a sure fire way to destroy any trust that you may have regained.Your mom might surprise you and be supportive of your choices when she sees that you are trying to be responsible.Good luck to you.Patty

Thanks. I dont plan on hiding it from her. I just think I will go get them without telling her and if she sees me taking them then she does. I just dont think she wants me to go get back on them because she thinks I will be shaggin all over the place! Lol! (like I have time between school and josh) but it just makes me feel better knowing I am protected. I swear, everythime I feel a little gas bubble move, I think its a baby kicking! Lmao! Im so paranoid! But like I said, it just makes me feel better being on them.
