Q: Sad News, Low Hcg, Miscarriage Inevitable

Hi everyone, thought i'd post an update. For those who don't know the history:

i had a blood test last thursday came back positive but the levels were only at 22. I took an hpt on sunday and tuesday morning and both came back negative. Had another blood test tuesday and hcg was only at 29, should have been in the hundreds by now.

Yesterday my doctor said to expect a miscarriage in an week or so and if it didn't happen this weekend to go in next week for an abdominal and transvag ultrasound. As it happens I started spotting, just a tiny bit, overnight, so looks like the miscarriage is starting.

So now just waiting it out, and waiting to hear from my doctor on how long we should wait until trying again. I've already been talking to my long time friend and therapist to work through the grieving and so I just really need to know how long my body physically needs to recover. I've checked around the net and it seems to be anywhere from 1 to 3 normal periods, but alot of times they're taking the emotional and phsycological factors into account.

Im sorry to hear about that. I wish I could answer your question or help you in some way. My best friend had two still borns before she had a beautiful baby boy. It was the hardest thing to watch her go through. She is the strongest person to me because she didnt give up. Well I wish you the best of luck in what ever happens. You will be in my prayers.

I am sorry to hear about your situation. Do you man how long does it take for your body to recover before you can become pregnant again? If so, my best frind had a miscarriage in may, and found out she was prgnant agin like a month later. So it really dpnds on the female. (my friend is also very, very fertile.) so as soon, as you are ready, go for it!

Thank you both for your replies. I talked to my doctor again and she said we could start trying right away, this month, which is great news. I am grieving for the loss of our first baby, but I am very much reassured that we are able to conceive, it's a big hurdle that we've successfully jumped.
