I think I just had my first braxton hicks contraction! It felt different from the cramps i've been talking about. It was deep inside me and felt just like I would imagine my uterus contracting to feel like. It lasted about 20 seconds and then went away.

Early bird for braxton hicks! I think I was about 25-26 weeks when I started getting them, though I only get them if I strain my body. Which I hardly ever do!!!

Well im 30 weeks and I got them last night! I was laying in bed and I kept feeling my lower stomach tighten up, then let go. Then tighten up! Then let go lol. It was like that *all* night til I finally got up in the morning. I could even feel it with my hand on my stomach. It was so weird. I kept trying to figure out what it was. I was like "whats wrong with my stomach!" lol now I just have cramps in my lower stomach. But the hicks were only at night

What Exactly Do They Feel Like?
I've felt my lower stomach get harder then loosen up but I thought that was just the baby leaning against me, and another time it felt like I had a cramp in my diaphram but would braxton hicks be that high up?

Well according to some sources, you actually get bh the whole time, but you only start feeling them around week 25. I'm not too sure about how accurate that is, but if it is true, it makes sense that you would start feeling them little by little, very faintly, and the stronger.

They are practice contractions. Your uterine muscles contract and hold. They serve to tone the muscles to make them ready for real contractions that come with labor.
