You could have a thyroid problem, and you
should get that checked out to be sure.
You need to find a plan and stick to it.
There are lots of things to help you.
Atkins works wonders if you are willing to
commit yourself (and no, atkins is not
just cutting out potatoes and bread. Go
to www.Atkins.Com to
figure out how to really do it) weight
watchers, south beach, etc.
If you are eating right (and that is a
very broad two words) and excercising
regularly and not losing weight then ask
your doctor for tips.
You could try eating six small meals a day
instead of 1-2 or 3 regular size meals.
This speeds up your metabolism. You could
try atkins, it does work for most people,
but you really have to commit and do it
the right way. Otherwise, you will gain
all of the weight back.
There has been a commercial on t.V late at
night for I thing, relacore? It is for
"people over 30, overstressed and
overweight". I don't know how much it is
or if it works, but you could ask your
doc.
Definately make an appointment with your
doc to decide what kind of diet is best
for you and to test your thyroid. That
would be the best route. Good luck!

Good advice, angie! You should get a full
exam with your doctor to rule out any
thyroid or metabolic problems.I have read
an article in newsweek 2-3 weeks ago about
the stress hormones that our bodies
produce and how they prevent you from
losing weight.If you can find it,read it.I
have found that most doctor's advice on
weight loss is pretty generic-"eat
less,move more".Look at your doctor-what
kind of shape is she/he in??Generally, they
do not practice what they preach! You can
lose weight, but afterwards,if you do not
change your relationship with food,you
will regain the weight. You cannot go back
to your proir eating habits. If you are
used to eating fast food 3-4 times per
week, that is not healthy.Yes,i know we are
all busy and always moving and going
places.Fast food is easy and less
expensive than fresh food, but not in the
long run.Heart disease,type 2 diabetes and
obesity are costing our health care system
many billions of dollars.Get a complete
physical and get checked out.If you are
healthy and get the go ahead from your
doc,try adkins,south beach oe weight
watchers.Yoga is geat for flexibility,but
not cardoi.Tae-bo is a great cardoi
workout, between the two you should notice
results in 2-3 weeks. If you are still not
losing weight,maybe your local park
district has some classes on aerobics or
step classes?Good luck to you,you can do
it!Patty
Are you on any meds? Alot of times people
are not familiar with side effects this
could be one of them

I agree with the other users the first
thing you should do is get a full medical
check, I would also recommend writing down
everything you eat and drink for a week,
you'll be amazed at what you forget to
take into account when counting calories.
I found it difficult to lose weight
without putting it all back on until I
joined weightwatchers in july this year, I
also started taking moderate exercise, not
only do I now have more energy but i've
also lost 211bs and am still losing weight
without denying myself any of my favourite
foods, I just point it all up. I hope you
manage to find something suitable for you.
Good luck

I recently bought a diet and exercise book
designed specifically for women. It has
detailed diet plans, as well as exercise
plans, and a chart to help you keep track
of everything. It's called the ultimate
guide to fitness, or something like that.
If you're willing to try the diet, it
might work. I was going to, but it's got
some pretty nasty stuff in it.

For the individual that wrote:

you obviously know nothing about
overeating. To make such an
oversimplified statement is unresponsible
and uninformed. Your statement is the
equivalent of telling an alcoholic "it's
not what you drink but how much." there
are serious underlying causal explanations
for such disorders. They can be
physiological, genetic, behavioral or most
likely a combination of the three.

In our society, we went results and damn
it we want them now! Weight loss takes
time if you are doing it right- dont give
up! Yes, it could very possibly be a
thyroid problem- you might want to have
that checked out because hypothyroidism
can and will slow your metabolism now, and
also speed your heart rate up - it doesn a
number on your body thats for sure! But,
if thats not the case, then keep your
spirits up- good things come to those that
wait!
