Hi! I'm new here but it looked like a nice place to find out some information. I just started on ovcon about three weeks ago, everything was fine until about last week when I started bleeding. Since I am a first time user, I knew it was normal for spotting to occur but I have been bleeding for eight days. Is this normal for a first time user? Should I call my gynecologist and see about switching to another pill? And if so, can anyone make a bc recommendation? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi there.I was on ovcon for several years and I did have alot of spotting with that pill.Since this is your first time,i would give it some time, but keep your doc posted on your bleeding. You may be just fine in a month or so.(a real inconvinience, but your body does need time to adjust)good luck to you!Patty

Yeah, patty is right. You are suppose to give a new pill three months to fully get into your system. If the bleeding is too bothersome to take then tell your doc and switch, but the general rule is to wait three months.
After that if you still bleed definately switch to a pill that you don't bleed with. Good luck!

Thank you very much for the advice. I think I will stay on ovcon for a while and make a decision after my body starts to get used to it. Again, thanks so much for alleviating my concerns. :d
