Ears......
OMG...I only signed up so I could let every one Know...''I know what you mean''...I have hated my ears since the age you become self aware of the way you look. For me it was when I was 8.Like many of you I want to get them pinned back, and I know I WILL get it done one day.
Reading what you have all written makes me feel like I am not the only one who is going through what I am going through.Because I have friends who do not understand.

THANKS!!!

hey guys, i had mine done today free on nhs on local anesthetic, was the wierdest experience fo my life haha all the sounds and pressure i was cringing for the whole hour.
Been in quite a bit of pain all day it does hurt alot and i have been trying to get to sleep for about 2 hours now with no luck haha Smile im on co-codamol 2 tablets 4 times a day but they dont really work if im honest, i wish they could inject me with that numbing stuff again, was pain freeeee.

anyway, i was on nhs waiting list for 8 months, pretty good i think seeing as my ears wernt actually that prertuding, having the dressing off in 10 days, cant wait! Very Happy

I get bullied about my ears all the time, and i didn't notice untill people started pointing it out at school. Then it made me very anxious about my ears.
Ever since people started bullying me i have never had any cool hair styles, or had my hair up- apart from in P.E. where they force you.
In P.E. I look at my self in the miror and compare my ears to other girls, they look huge!!
I want to get the surgery done, but my mom will not let me, and i dont think i can afforf it myself.

[How much is it in £'s?]

So looks like i will have to go through school getting bullied untill i can afford to get the opp done.
Reading above, the feedback seems very positive and i think it sounds great, and only a little bit of pain.
Having ears that stick out is horrible- and all the advise i can give to people who suffor what i do, is "nobody is perfect".

Thankyou for reading,

I'm a mother of a four year old girl. From the day she was born her ears stuck out.I have an appointment with a surgeon tomorrow to have them pinned back(consult only).I feel it's extremely important for her to have this operation before she starts school next July. Not only do they stick out but they are kinda pointy too. When i told her she was having the surgey she replied"i won't look like me anymore,my ears don't stick out Mummy".This made me feel guilty about putting her through this but i also realise it'll affect her much more once the bullying and teasing starts at school(and i know it will).Growing up,i know exactly how that feels as my ears stick out too, nowhere near as much as my daughters though, but i always wished i could've had the operation. Also my sister had this procedure done when she was 4,she now thanks my parents for having it done. One of her ears is not quite as flat as the other, but it's not a great difference.
Reading all your posts has given me confidence that i am making the right decision for her as i'm sure not having this surgery will lower her self-confidence and affect her teen years.

I agree badgenectics - My Son's ears really stick out and i'm worried sick about him being picked on at school but balked at the idea of surgery - reading all of the responces on here has made up my mind that when he's older (he's just two at the moment) we will get his ears pinned back - mine stick out(one more than the other) and although they don't bother me now (I tie my hair back, swim etc etc etc)I used to hate them throughout my teens and even my twenties to a certain extent - I wish I could have had them done, I think it would have made a real difference to my confidence (and hairstyles!!!)
