Q: Question On Hpt

I just wanted to know how common false negatives are ? I have taken several hpts and they all came up negative . I have had a very regular cycle for the past 11 years , between 29 and 31 days, never skipping a whole month except when I was pregnant with my daughter. My last cycle was 7/13/04 and now I am on cycle day 46 and counting. I went to the hospital a few nights ago due to concerns but they did a urine sample and it came back negative also but no blood t est have been done. I have had several signs of pregnacy but no confermation yet. Will some one please help me understand what is going on? Any comments will be of help. Thanks to all you that reply. Catherine

Hey your in the same boat as me. I know i'm pregnant, but i'm still waiting for a positive test result. Maybe check out the poll I put up and then you can get an idea of how other people are.

Go to the doctor for a blood test. Thats the most accurate thing you can do.

Definitely get a blood test!

I went to the dr last thursday for a suspected bladder infection, my period was due on sunday so the dr asked if I wanted to do a blood test since I was going to the lab anyway and of course I said yes Smile

i got the results saturday, the day before my period was due, negative for infection and positive for pregnancy Smile Smile

but I really wanted to see the two lines on an hpt (seems to make it more real) so I took one sunday am, first morning urine...And it was negative!!

So definitely get a blood test. I'm going to try my other hpt tomorrow morning, just to see if it finally shows up, i'll let you know

Maybe wait 2 or 3 days instead of 1 so you dont wind up wasting the test you know?
