Well, they sound like really good friends. Those are always nice to have. But I really don't know what ya'll could do. Maybe treat them to dinner, for a couple of nights. If you start to really feel uncomfortable, try telling them to cut down a little. But it looks like brooklyn , will come into the world with a lot of people that really care about her.

Wow... Can I borrow your friends Laughing well I would throw them a party to show your appreciation and give them a card saying this is nothing compared to what you have done for me thanks. They sound like really good friends so i'm sure showing your gratitude will be alot for them.

Lol when kevin asked me what we could get them in return, I said well lets take them out to diner or something... But it just doesnt even it out! But the thing is, I dont really know them that well...Yea ive know roger since I started going out with kevin, but I only met holly like last december. We dont really hang out with them that much either. Lol ryan was over the other day and he was like "well I gotta go get megan from work and go pick up her birthcontrol." kevins like "why? You dont need that crap" lol and then ryan said somthing about how he doesnt need to be like us. And then he said and "im not gonna try and be like roger"... Kevin asked "why is that?" and ryan kinda acted like oh caca I opened my mouth and then said after a couple seconds "well you know how he tries to be like me all the time, well I dont want to be like him and try and be like you." so im starting to wonder if I gave them baby fever and now they are ttc.

If they are a couple and you really trust and if you have no one else in mind, maybe you could tell them that you would be honored if they would be the godparents to the baby over a nice dinner. Just a suggestion, could you imagine how they will spoil the baby then.

Yes they are a couple. Lol they have been together as long as me and kevin have been together (well lol a couple months less I think). What are the exact responsibilities of godparents? Lol I dont even know who my godparents are (i think I only have a godmother, and its my aunt or grandma, and my mom always said that if she died I would live with my aunt or grandma and they would become my gardian)... Ok godparents get custody if something happens, right? I dunno, I just never really knew what exacltly godparents were for. Lol I feel kinda dumb.

Yeah, the godparents responsibility is to take care of your child in the case something was to happen to you and kevin. But that is just a formality. If in case a family member can't afford or refuses to take in your child. My sister is my first son;s godmother, but she already told me to look for someone else for the second one. Because she wouldn't be able to afford them both plus hers, so we are chosing his brother and wife this time, which I really don't want buti don't have close friends like you do.

Godparents are basically a religious thing. I think godparents is more of a title, kinda like saying "thank u for being there for us" and what not. Danicas godparents are tims best friend scotty, and my best friend ashley. They dont really know eachother but they've met already. Godparents are usually there for the baptism and u have the choice of, I somethign ever happened to u and kevin, that ur bab would go under the care of godparents.. But it doesnt always hafta be that way. So I think its basucally just a respectful title.

Are they struggling to have children themselves?

Always be gracious, nothing offends a benefactor more than rejection.

Often benefactors of this kind prefer something "low-key" try things like
* decorative plate for "wonderful friends"
* photo frame with scan piccie or first photo or something in
* special fridge magnet "wonderful friends" / "special people" kinda thing
* notelets - write a short but thankful thankyou notelet, use a real nice card, maybe delicate scent on it, write real nice and use a "posh" envelope.
If they are genuine, so long as you are grateful, I think all they want is a small token of thanks, but thank them for who they are and being there as opposed to individual gifts.
Once the baby arrives show you appreciate the stuff by using and not abusing it.
And show them that you don't take their gifts for granted. Wink

Yeah, I think spending a lot of money on them would just make them feel bad. Kia's ideas are great.

Godparents are people who are designated to teach your child about god. Just an f.Y.I.

They really sound like special people though!

I agree that they sound like good people. Some people are just that good and we see that so seldom that it makes us suspicious.Have them over for dinner, find out what they really like and try to make their favorite meal. It's really great to have someone who supports you and your situationlthank them for their generosity and let them know that you truly appreciate their gifts, but that they have done plenty and just having them as friends is enough. If they continue to give gifts, just be gracious and accept them and count your blessings!Patty
