In nov. Of 2000 my wrists and hands swelled up and basically gave out.I have bilateral carpal tunnel, tendonitis, and arthifibrosis in my right wrist.I am right handed.I was a meat wrapper in a grocery store for 18 years. When I filed my claim, after 2 surgeries, and with permanent 5 lb lifting restrictions I was terminated since I could no longer do any work in the store.I have had 1 more surgery on my right,no help though.I finally got a permanent disability rating and am now fighting for my settlement.Has any one else been through any thing like this, please share.

I Had Problems With My Carpal Tunnel Release
Hello,

i had carpal tunnel release 5 months ago and now i'm having pain in my right hand. But it's in my pinky finger and ring finger. I also have pain in the inside of my elbow. I heard that it could be cubital tunnel; another form of carpal tunnel. My job tried to tell me that it wasn't work related but i'm a clerk typist, comeon. I type 95% of the time everyday. When they told me that it wasn't work related, I went and got a lawyer. Well, that changed a lot of things. They approved of me seeing a doctor and eventually saw that I did in fact have carpal tunnel and it was related to my job. If they don't want to fess up and believe that it is work related getting a lawyer would be your best bet. Good luck and keep me posted. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reply. Wink

thanks

In process of dealing with same thing. I was just sent home due to my restictions and nothing in work place for me to do. They haven't fired me but now im back off work again. I had the surgery in feb. and Now my hand has got worse and i don't know what else to do. Im told i can do repetive work anymore. But i won't quit my job being i do have a lawyer. I don't know what the settlement is for carpal tunnel. We haven't got that far. I know that i may not be able to work again being its the hand i use all the time. I can't do anything it hurts and stings. Like needle in my wrist and arm. Workman comp won't approve me to see a hand specialist. So you have any suggestions.
