Q: Severe Sleep Walker

Hi. I'm new to this forum so here goes. I'm 23, married and a severe sleep walker. I have had this problem my entire life, but it has gotten much worse in the past 6 months. I've hurt myself more times than I can remember, tonight being by far the worst. I always dream that someone has broken into my house, or hurt my son.
My sleep walking was never an issue until my husband started working nights, and now there's no one to stop my episodes. I have yet to go to the doctor because i'm worrried about my treatment options. I am absolutely against putting any chemicals into my body so i'm not sure where that leaves me..
So if there's anyone out there who has gone through something similar please respond. I feel like i'm going crazy!

Thanks

Extremely eHealthy
I am married to a sleep walker. He has never hurt himself or anyone else.If you have hurt yourself and are alone at night, you owe it to your son to have yourself evaluated. You could cause harm to him or to yourself.Sometimes, drugs are not used,if you don't know what your options are, you'll never know what is available to you.Not all drugs are bad,if you need meds to help you, that is not wrong. Are you opposed to medication for religious reasons? If not, chemicals are in just about everything we use that is manufactured. So you are putting chemicals into your body whether you know it or not. Please go see a sleep specialist and get a full sleep study. If you choose not to go through with the treatment plan,at least you know what your choices are.Best of luck to you!Patty

Thanks for the advice patty. I will be going to the doctor for my yearly in a week, so I plan to ask her then.
To answer your question about medicine, I had a very bad reaction to a pennicillian related drug when I was young. Since then i've been lucky enough to make it without so much as an advil. I even delievered my son without any pain relievers.
Thanks again!
