I just went to the clinic and found out that i'm pregnant. What do I do now?!?!? The only people who know are, of course, my boyfriend and best friend. I know I have to tell my mom but I dont really know exactly how to tell her. My other question was about prenatal vitamins..Should I get them over the counter or will my doctor give me some? And which ones are the best to take??? Please help! Thanks

I'd say tell your mother asap. Obviously, she's done this before and can be a great help. And if you wait too long, she may be insulted that you thought you couldn't talk to her.

Any prenatals fine-- I get mine at walmart-the prescribed ones I got made me awfully sick

Well, how old are you? And did they give you an estimate of how far along your are? Well, I am 16 weeks, and I still haven't told my mom. But that is just b/c we have a cat and mouse game going on. She knows, but she won't say it aloud until, I tell her myself, but that is just the type of relationship I have with her. And on top of that I am pretty much self sufficient. I have gotten my healcare on my own, but you may not be the same. So from your, post I gather that you should tell your mom asap. Some people just come straight out and say it, and some people write a letter. You'll find the best way to do it. But I think you should do it before the week is over, you need to go to the doc asap. As for the prenatals, my doc gave me samples of lots of diff prenatals, and she told me to tell her which one I liked best. So you shouldn't just go buy your own from over the counter, b/c they don't have everthing you need, if they did the would be rx. Ohh and do you have insurance, if so you need to check and see if pregnancy is covered for you. If not you can see about getting medicaid.

Well i'm 17..I'll be 18 in december. I talked to my boyfriend and we both decided we'll tell our parents tonight (wish me luck!) when I went to the clinic they estimated that I was about 7 weeks along but she said that it was very accurate and when I go to the doctor he'll tell me. But thanks for the advice!

I waited to tell my dad till I was 8 weeks... I went a month knowing that I was pregnant but it was really hard to tell him. Maybe if you have a brother or sister they can help you tell your mom/dad. You can probably get prenatal vitamins from the Dr. For free...But the ones from a grociery store are fine 2. U should try and get medicaid...Its better to use that then your parents insurance because it will cover your baby 2. U can get health insurance without your parents knowing...Just tell them u live with your boyfriend (even if u dont) and they'll put u down as emancipated and all of the mail that the dr's send will go to his house. U can get public assistance 2 like wic (if u want) if they dont know that ur still living at ur parents ...

Well I told my mom tonight and she surprisingly didnt flip out like I thought she would. She understood that I didnt want an abortion and is backing me 100% :d . Now I just have to tell my dad Confused . I have an older brother and i'm scared to tell him even worse then telling my dad cause he's very protective of me and he's not too fond of my b/f. But now that my mom is fine with it I think i'll be ok. My mom is picking me up some vitamins tomorrow that I can take till I make a doctors appointment which i'll make tomorrow morning. My b/f's mom is excited..Shes hoping I have a girl since she already has a grandson but she said she'll be just as equally happy either way. She has already called up every single person she knows to tell them and is ready to go out shopping already! I guess i'm lucky to have so much support already at a young age. Right now i'm just scared about a miscarriage. My mom keeps telling me to take it easy and just eat right and relax but i'm so stressed about losing the baby already and I just found not too long ago that I was pregnant...Is this normal??? Well thanks guys again for replying to my messages!

Well congrats! (if u wanted to be) if not, u will have support even if it doesn't seem like it. But yea the prenatals from walmart or wherever are fine, just make sure u get an adequet (sp?) supply of folic acid (prevents birth defects) and iron so that u wont become anemic! And good luck, I wish the best for u!

Congradulations Smile how far along are you ?? Its normal to be paranoid that your going to have a miscarriage ((atleast I think so)) I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks the first time I got pregnant but I wasnt worried about it then..When I got pregnant now I was really paranoid about it since it had already happen to me but luckily everythings going fine Smile
