My family member was told today that since he has a dimple in his ear lobe area, he is at a higher (40%) chance of having a heart attack. Has anyone ever heard of this??? They now want to do a heart cath. And he has no problem at all with his heart! Should we worry??

Hi
A crease or fold in the ear lobe is caused by arteriosclerosis, so I was told by my cardiologist. It is due to the hardening of the small arteries that supply the ear lobe. That 40% increase in a chance for a heart attack is bogus info. A cardiac cath should not be done based upon an examination of one's ear lobe!
