I hope you are right. The doctor I have I do not like and he takes no interest except for the billing. He told me last time I was in that since I couldn't afford "the treatment" he would give me 20 years before I will need a transplant. What a guy!!! But hey i'll take the 20 years and not health forum but sure do not want to risk my children or grandchildren. My husband said he didn't care if he got it!! Life is hard!

I will watch this site and see if any one else has a reply. Hey you do not know of any doctors who will give free advise on line do you?

Thanks

I believe that you need a bodily fluid exchange.
So I am pretty sure that the answer is no you aren't putting them at risk.
Also do you use "chemicals" in your spa, I know lots of people do and I understand that these help to fight anything in the water.
So say you got hot and sweaty and they had a scratch I doubt they would catch anything, but if you say cut yourself and they were helping bandage it and got some of your blood in their scratch then I think there is a risk.
Just remember don't pee in the pool - kids always have nicks and scratches. Wink

I am surprised at getting another reply and that you for taking the time. I promise I will not pee in the tub and defininatlly do watch myself when ever I am bleeding. No one around the house is allowed to help me with that type of emergency.

Thank you again

Hep C
My husband has been diagnosed with hep c.
Your grandchildren cannot get hep c through the hot tub. The only fluid that can give you hcv is blood. You should keep them away from toothbrushes, razors, ect. They cannot get it from hugs and kisses, eating utensils, ect.
If you are unhappy with your Dr. Get another one as soon as possible. This is a very dangerous and often misunderstood disease. Some doctors, because they dont know much about the illness, just ignore your problems, and hope they go away. You have to be an activist for your health.
Your husband doesnt care if he gets it, but he needs to be healthy and strong for you. So you need to take preventive actions to keep him from getting it. Has he been tested?
God bless,
kristina

That is correct hcv can only be transmitted through blood to blood contact. My husband was recently diagnosed with it. He has genotype 2 which reponds better to treament the the other types. Its going to be a long battle. But you do not have to worry about hot tub use with your grandkids, they won't get it that way. Since my hubby has been recently diagnosed we have been actively ttc . He will be starting treatment sometime next spring and the meds can cause serious birth defects. It takes about 6 months after treatment to be cleared to have kids again. I would recommend you getting a new doctor who cares about you. It is a serious illness and should be dealt with. If you can't afford treatment, most treatment centers have payment plans and prescription plans to help with the cost. We were told that treatment is about $2000.00 a month. But if it could save your life, its worth it.
