When you have no one else to turn to...You know who most people turn to? The loving man up above! Im sorry you had to go through this, but if you have trust in the lord he will be good to you. I remember when I was 15 and we had nowhere to go, and there was 5 of us! So we had to live in a motel for a while and we used to think ".God why? Help us out, I know you are here for us" and we prayed everyday and now we have our nice house he has blessed us with. You need to pray because he will give you something greater. Just pray. Have faith. I hope things go well for you. If you check with the churches they provide shelter, food, places to go. They are always willing to help. Here are some words for encouragement.

deuteronomy 28
blessings for obedience
1 if you fully obey the lord your god and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the lord your god will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2 all these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the lord your god:
3 you will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.

Hebrews 13: 5
5 keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because god has said,
"never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you."[1] 6so we say with confidence,
"the lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.

Ecclesiastes 5
9 the increase from the land is taken by all; the king himself profits from the fields.

10 whoever loves money never has money enough;
whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income.
This too is meaningless.

11 as goods increase,
so do those who consume them.
And what benefit are they to the owner
except to feast his eyes on them?

Hi gailj,
I hope that things are looking better for you. Is there a single mother support group anywhere near you? You need to get out there and meet other people who are going through the same things as you are. I am not a very religious person, but it can't hurt to pray. :d
try and stay positive and get your kids to help you go through the want ads. That will give you something to work on together!

I was a single mom with no job too.
The first thing I had to do is swallow my pride and go to the state for help.
I got myself and my son on medicaid, went to wic and onto the child care assistance list.

Through the state assistance I was able to have opportunities to find training and a job and single moms groups, as well as help with child support services...

Good luck

Oh Yeah And Dont Worry
Do not worry
25"therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
27who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[2] ?

Hi gail,
how's it going today? I definitely agree with singlemomma, you need to apply for help from the state and whatever else you can get, at least to get you started. Then when you get a job and figure everything out, you might be able to do it on your own. But don't worry if it takes a while, these things take time. We're rooting for you, take care of yourself.
