For the past few days i’ve been feeling really sick. My left side hurts really bad and my breast are very tender. I always fell like I going to get sick. I could sleep all the time and not have a problem with it. I usually only have to go to the bathroom twice a day, now i’m going at least 4 to five times a day. Some of these things I know could be do to the fact that I just started birth control and my body is going through changes. I guess why i’m so scared is that i’m only 17 and i’m still in high school. If any one has any type of advice for me I would love to hear from you. Thanks!

Birth control could be the reason why you are feeling this way, but if you had unprotected sex lately that's also a possibility. I would check with your docter or take a hpt. The symptoms you are describing are commen in pregnancy. However, you should test to make sure. Wait to test though until your period is suppose to come or if you get one that can test early that would work too. Otherwise, you'll waste money like I did.

If you have just started birth control, you should have been tested at the time to ensure you weren't pregnant.
If you have taken it properly and you used additional protection in the first 7 days I wouldn't expect you to be pregnant.
If you have had unprotected sex either before birth control or after during the first few days, you need to be tested to make sure, hon.

Do pregnancy symptoms even kick in after only a few days?

I do know that vomiting during pregnancy, better known as morning sickness, doesn't usually strike until about 4-6 weeks after conception; some women don't even experience it.

.............

Don't worry dear...As probably all of these ladies who have replied can probably vouch for, I too was and sort of am in the same boat with you, speaking in terms of symptoms. I thought I might be pregnant, and my being nautious to the point of near vomiting got me paranoid, thinking it was morning sickness. But then I found out that doesn't start for a few weeks in the event of pregnancy. Not only was my intense stress causing me sickness, but also was a stomach bug. Granted I felt no hunger because of stress and nausea. And then I began thinking my constant urination was a sign, but even before I got paranoid I used the bathroom a lot because I drink so much. I also thought I displayed breast tenderness, but in reality it was my breasts getting sore from coldness and shivering induced by stress.

But as the others have stated, if you had unprotected sex before going on birth control, you might have a reason for concern. If you haven't, though, I would probably say it's the birth control doing that to you. If you didn't have unprotected sex or have semen come in contact with your vagina or vaginal area before going on birth control, then i'd say call your local hospital and ask to speak to a gynecologist, or call your local family planning office and ask them if what you are experiencing is part of birth control use.

From what I know, birth control is not only used as a contraceptive, but also to regulate a woman's periods if they are irregular. Breast tenderness and excess hunger are usually signs of pre-menstrual syndrome. As for vomiting and nausea...Well...Only once have I thrown up because of the intensity of my period. I guess it depends on your system.

............

I'd say, before leaping to conclusions, your best bet is to first call a gynecologist or someone in family planning and explaining your situation to them. They will help you out. I know they did for me, as well as this forum's own wonderful members.

Good luck to you, and I hope that things will turn out in your favor. I'll keep you in my prayers.

I know what you mean. I feel I'm going through the same thing. I'm 21 and had unprotected sex with a guy last week I'm seeing and although he pulled out, I'm beginning to wonder if I'm pregnant as it's still possible. I have had a lighter period since then though, but at the same time my breasts are beginning to feel tender and for the last two days I feel absoutely exhausted even though I've done nothing. Am I pregant?
