Hi

do you think these symptoms sound anything like ms.

Sharp headaches
-several times daily (30-50), lasting split seconds to about 30 though had them for longer occasionally
-normally at front either side

vision blacks out for hour to 3 hrs
-blacks out ~ half vision in one eye but can be either eye
-no resulting headache from these
-had about 8 of these this year

sore/achy eyes at back especially during movement

weird vision disturbances where I feel like im looking through shadows, have about 2 or 3 horizontal stripes across eyes

sudden appearance of about 15-20 large floaters and lines

double vision, worse at far away things than closer though still happens closer up as well

feel like I have lost some peripheral vision and maybe some at top

muscle twitching/jerking no pattern in these, happen randomly about 15 times a day

tingling in hands and feet, and sometimes feeling of my feet getting stabbed

shaking of eyelids, happens several times a day but will stop for a few days as well

joint pain (shoulders, back, neck and hips, less often knees and ankles

i went to a neuro and ophalmologist in november last year, saw my optic nerves were swollen and thought I had papilladema but after spinal tap and mri of my head (don't fully know what results were of this) diagnosed me with buried drusen. They were however mentioning whether it could be optic neuritis. They didn't know what the headaches were about. Ive so far tried 3 drugs for the headaches but none have worked yet.

My question is (after all that), everything i've looked at is pointing towards ms. Is there anything else these symptoms could point towards?

Thanks for your time and for listening

beks

Some of your symptoms can be seen in MS but typical for MS is that neurological or eye symptoms comes in episodes. This means they vanish (remission) and reoccur (relapse) after some indefinite time. At least 2 episodes of symptoms should happen to assume MS. Beside episodic occurrence of the symptoms, MS should be also proved with MRI/CT scan of the brain (demyelinisating plaques), lumbar puncture (increased antibody level in cerebro-spinal liquor) and "evoked sensory electrical potentials" - test. In your case, MRI and spinal tap probably didn't confirm existence of MS so eye disorder (buried drusen) became more likely option at that time.
Would you tell me how your condition is now?
