Im 27 year old female and have been put on the yasmine birth control pill. When I was reading through the pamplets it said that yasmine can have a harmfull effect on the kidneys and liver if you have had problems with them before. I have a habit of getting kidney and bladder infections will this harm them even more? I've also noticed that yasmine is not helping my acne should I be taking ortho tricyclyn? Which pill would be better for my body in the long run, and which pill will clear up my skin better? Please help im very confused.

Hi,kitty. If you read the info on all medication,it makes you not want to take it.Any bcp can be harmful to you if you have certain risk factors.I think the tri-phasal pills are better for skin problems(orto-tricyclen is one). There are many choices for oral contraceptives.Talk with your doc and see if you can be switched to one of the tri-phasal pills.Discuss your concerns for potential kidney/bladder problems with your doc.Maybe there is a better choice for you.Good luck!Patty
