Hi, i'm new here. I usually feel pretty good, but last week I sort of binged on some cookies and haven't felt quite mysef since. When that happens which is occasional. I can't remember the last time I felt this way. But I go heavy on protein and cut back on carbs and it kind of brings my body back into balance. But i'm also a little anxious although i'm trying not to be as i'm looking for a job of some kind, preferably online due to my kids's school schedules and no public transportation.

If your blood sugar is ok, can stress episodes aggravate this?

Thanks,
jan

Hello janni,

you are quite right that when eating the wrong food, especially sugary foods, you may experience anxiety attacks. This is because people with hypoglycemia - a sugar allergy - overproduce stress hormones that cause these attacks. The treatment is going on an hypoglycemic diet.

People with this metabolic disorder are always vulnerable to overproduce adrenaline, and hence it may pay to do a psychotherapy course that helps you to gain more confidence in oneself when dealing with social or environmental stress situations.
