Q: stomach pain and queasiness with diet soda

I've noticed that while regular soda (which I rarely drink - once a month if even that) doesn't seem to affect me, diet soda seems to make me a little queasy.

After drinking a little bit of diet soda (diet pepsi seems to be the worst), i'll feel very full, like i've either eaten a big meal or just drank a whole lot of water. But at the same time it will make me feel a semi-painful "hunger" sensation.

Is it normal to get such stomach pain when drinking diet soda? Or is it just me?

I drink diet soda a lot despite the pain, at least one serving a day.

No it is not normal to feel pain when drinking soda!

Diet sodas are made with an artificial sweeter called aspartame which you may have an intolerance to.

When you think about all the chemicals they put into these things, no wonder you're not feeling 100% just try pronoucing some of those words, like "phenylalanine"!

I would definately avoid these drinks, along with any other food or drinks that make you feel sick.

I think logic has to be used here, why continue to drink it?!?!!?It isn't neccassary! And infact all soda drinks are terrible for your health, try drinking water or fresh juice instead!

Totally agree.
Diet soda (or any soda) just blows up and bloats you out, drink something you enjoy instead.
Water is fantastic - it can be chilled on its own, flavoured with squash or cordial or just with a dash of lemon or lime juice.
Drinking 8-10 (250ml glasses) glasses per day will help detox your body and leave you feeling good.
