Q: Normal to Be Anxious???

Hi there, I was diagnosed with pericarditis last nov. And i've had tightness around my chest area ever since. I had re-occurence of pericarditis in july and it's stressing me out as I am very anxious and uneasy all the time. Is this normal to be shaky and nervous all the time?

I'm currently seeing a cardiologist and I might have to have a surgery...But we will see. For ppl out there, don't take the flu bug too lightly, as this is how I got pericarditis, and it's ruined my life since. Take care all!!!

Having Complications From Percicardiits
I too had pericarditis last year. The doctors didn't diagnos it until my second trip to the er. I think they thought it was just indjestion or something. But it cleared up within a few weeks taking aspirin. After it cleared up things seemed to be fine for a while but then I started having intermittant chest pains and shortness of breath. They send me for a stress test and that came back fine. Then about 2 months ago, I started having the pain again and my heart would just start racing for no reason. I get dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous, and really shaky. My heart will continue to race and pound so hard. So after a few more trips back to the er, they reffered me to a internist. He listened to my heart and said he heard a knocking sound, possibly from scar tissue from having pericarditits. They are not sure if I had pericarditits the second time as it didn't show on the ecg. So now I am going for an echocardiogram and taking advil everyday. I still have palpitations and pounding heart beat almost daily. This really sucks! I thought that scar tissue formed after several occurences of pericarditis, any one else having any similar syptoms? Any information would be greatly appreciated, as this seems to be taking over my life.
