I have two moles that bug me very badly - one is under each of my armpits. I've nicked them both many times shaving. Both protrude from the skin very much. One is not very big at all, while the other is about half the size of a pencil eraser and is two different colors of brown. Both appear to be sunken in in the middle.

My cousin told me of a technique her friend had tried to remove moles such as mine. According to her, you can take a piece of thread and tie it tightly numerous times around the mole and leave it there until the pressure eventually makes the mole fall off.

I believe this could work, because (while this is a disgusting example) i've read of some sick individuals who will wrap rubber bands tightly around the tails of cats and kittens and they eventually fall off. I think the same could happen to my moles.

Has anyone ever heard of or tried this method?

I have a friend who tried that. And she just had a little skin tag. Needless to say it didn't work for her. It ripped and bleed like crazy!
I myself, cut off my "skin tags" but would not mess with a large one or with a mole. It is best to have your doctor do it. You really are not suppose to remove any kind of mole yourself.

Don't mess around with moles. It's so much easier to get them cut off (it doesn't even really hurt that much.. Just a pain to heal). The problem with tying them off is in some cases your moles can go really deep into your skin. You can also damage the nerves in the area by cutting off the circulation. Then if it does work you are dealing with dead skin that will still be attached to your body. The techniques work with skin tags because they hang off of your skin and do not go below the surface.. Plus the piece of skin that connects to the tab is very narrow and easy to tie off.

I don't think it'd work in all cases because sometimes, as someone else said, it goes deeper under the skin.

And you just shouldn't do it because it isn't safe/clean. You could get an infection or other complications. Plus, some moles are cancerous and messing with them is not very intelligent.

Mole tying removal, homeopathic and in my case safe...
Razz I took white waxed dental floss about 6 inches in length. I tied the base of the mole as tightly as I could then let nature take its course. I would kind of work at the knot about 3 times a day and work it off (the floss) and replace it tying tighter each time as I could stand it. hides Mind you it looks really goofy and ugly on the face for a while but if you have about a week or two it really works use alcohol to dry it out between tyings or just sitting watching tv. Now, this worked for me and I know how aggrivated I was with my mole..... Rolling Eyes It will literally strangle the mole and the skin will eventually die out and can be removed or let it just fall off. Let it take its time, be patient, if you had yours as long as I had mine the patience is the virtue!!!!

I have tried this method and to my surprise it worked very fast (7 days) and very easily, I put lots of alcohol to dry it up faster and it worked very well. It had been bugging me for years (all my years) but no more. It was on my lower jaw line and I always would try to hide it. Ugh Just keep it clean and change the floss often and alcohol alcohol alcohol. On the mole that is. lol shimmy

There were totally 15 moles / black spots on my face and body before, I tried this mole remover and most of my moles were gone right now. But please pay attention, don’t over use in order to avoid getting scar. Hope it works for you too.

For more information, please see the following using methods, it is very useful for unwanted moles, beauty marks, black spots.

BRAND NEW DIY MOLE VANISH WART REMOVER
10 ML Skin Care non-Laser Removal

Usage:
(1) Clean the nevus and the area around it, use a toothpick (do not use a cotton stick to tip or wipe) to mix the liquid and sediment, and then tip a little amount of the mole remover and apply it onto the middle of the nevus. The area would turn to white colour after 1 minute. Use alcohol or water to clean the mole area after 10 minutes (If you tip the amount of mole remover properly, you don't have to clean). The mole would peel off (May help with finger) in 8 to 20 days. Repeat the process again until the mole peeling off if the colour of the nevus is dark. (it is suggested applying the liquid to nevus on hands or legs first to see the results and learn to control the usage before applying the liquid to other areas of the body, DON'T TRY on FACE for the first time!)
