Can you get lung cancer from having phenumonia ?

From everything I read, this will not happen, as they have very different causes. Pneumonia can happen as a secondary condition to lung cancer, particularly if the tumor blocks off a bronchiole, and part of the lung does not get fresh air anymore. Also, someone with copd as a result of smoking is much more at risk for pneumonia, and smoking can of course also cause lung cancer.

No

pneumonia is an infection, either viral or bacterial.

Cancer is abnormal cell growth- not infection.
