When are braxton hicks supposed to start , and what do they feel like? Are they supposed feel like the upper part or the middle of your abdomen in contracting and then releasing? If not what do ya'll think that may be?

Ok you seriously need to talk to your doctor about how far along you are.

Hey
Girl, go see your doc. You are further along than you think. You have to be.

You arent supposed to have braxton hicks until 20 weeks, most people with their first pregnancies dont feel fetal movement until around 20 weeks, and lactation definetly does not start at 14 weeks... You really need to go talk to your doc about how far along you are.

You definately need to go to the doctor. Putting it off isn't doing anyone any good.

I am 14 weeks according to my lmp, and 15 weeks according to my ultrasound. I do want to call the doc, so I can go but it's like when I was at my last appt. About 3 weeks ago, she measured my uterus herself, and then, she specifically said "let's go do an ultrasound, to see if your due date is correct". And on top of that I was reading last night, a q & a post by an ob/gyn, and she said that it is normal for women to have braxton hicks this early. As a metter of fact she said that it is normal to have them as early as 11 weeks, and some women have them but just don't know it.

Can ya'll tell me, if the description in my original post "are they supposed feel like the upper part or the middle of your abdomen in contracting and then releasing", a good description of braxton hicks, or is it just something else.

And do ya'll really think I should go now, I say that because my appt is 8 days from now?

My doc told me at 20 weeks I shouldnt even really be feeling em... But u really gotta get that looked at if u think ur feelin braxton hicks... Thats not right. Could u just have a slight cramping?? Cuz ur uterus is still stretching so it could be that... Im not sure what else to tell ya...

Well I don't know. I felt it like maybe 4 or 5 times yesterday, and when they started I was trying to go to sleep. It felt like in the middle of my stomach it gor really tight esp. On the sides for less than a minute, and then it just released. The first time it was like I was getting eletricuted (sp) b/c my body jerked a little. And whenever it happen I rolled over to my back. I guess I thought it would help.

Hmmm... Id bring that up to ur doc. Ive never heard of that description before?? Ask ur doc for an u/s and tell him/her what uve been fleeing (movemnts, electric tightenings, etc) and just get her to take a look at u. Think u may be farther than the doc thinks u are.

Hey I felt that feeling on the side... Kind of felt like my muscle was really tight and I couldn't relax it... It kind of came and went, but it wasn't violent and didn't have definite beginning and end the way I picture a contraction would.

I take that back - I don't think it was a bhc. It was about 2 inches above my belly button and my uterus shouldn't be up that far yet.
