Which ones have you tried? What works, what doesn't? I'm going to try the 'grapefruit' diet. Has anyone here tried this before? If so, what kind of results did you experience?

The best diet in the world is the seven food groups diet. Eat 5 - 6 smaller meals, like snacking, daily. Walking fast not just strolling and you will melt the pounds away. Walk fast for 20 - 30 minutes a day and stretch for strength 15 - 30 (pilates style). Lost 30 pounds in 25 days and 3 dress sizes. Drink water, no pop or soda (soda contains almost 1/4 of a cup of sugar per can) or dilute cranberry juice, 1 ounce to 7 ounces of water and drink before and during meals. Helps to cut the appetite.

this is just to echo georgie's post.

5-6 small meals are a must. your diet should include a decent portion of protein (protein feeds your muscles, which will help increase your metabolism, which will burn calories, which will held one lose weight). chicken, turkey, egg whites, nuts, skim milk, etc. fresh veggies, especially green leafy veggies are awesome too. the grapefruite diet is one of the worst diets. you will gain everything right back the moment you go off the diet. and you will also be losing muscle mass, which will reduce your body's capacity to burn fat/calories. to lose weight, one must make a lifestyle choice. breakfast is essential. the longer the body goes without food, the more it will store the next time you feed it. exercise is needed as well...daily walks are a good way to start. if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off, then you will need to take up weight training to tone your muscles, which will also increase your metabolism. eating the 5-6 meals a day will also help to increase your metabolism as you are constantly feedoing your body, so it will not be storing as much, and it will help the insulin levels. personally, i add a protein shake to my daily routine, and i found that really helped me. i lost 25 pounds in 3 months, and have kept it off for over a year.

that's just my two cents!
good luck.

I hear fad diets are evil. I've never heard of any that worked.
