If I by chance ended up getting pregnant on the 19th of september, and should of had my period on september 23rd to the 26th. Would it be to soon to get a blood test done because we really need to get an answer soon, and this is the only other option I can think of. I took an at home pregnancty test and it came out negative yesterday, but I still have no period and I really need to know as soon as possible.

Hey Slickchick
Hey slickchick,
I don't think its to early to get a blood test. It might be to early to get a positive urine test. But if you really want to find out for sure, you should go to the doctor and let them know whats going on...... If you are pregnant, you are producing a hormone that the doctors would find in your blood. I wish the best of luck.

Take a regular test first before you go take a blood test. Less effort! It might just be late, but take it in the morning to find out, and if its still late, please take a blood test! Good luck!

If you "think" you got pregnant on the 16th of september, and your period was due a week after that and is now late, I do not believe however that it is too late to have a blood test done, although I do think that that is a costly procedure to have done. Your most fertile days are two weeks before your period, so although the time you would have gotten pregnant didn't fall into those fertile days, I wouldn't count on that. I am not sure but I do believe that that is what a pregnancy test goes by is that you got pregnant two weeks before your period would have started and that time limit would allow the chemical hcg to show up in your urine. So you may not have enough to make your test show up positive yet. I would wait another week and then get another test done, or go to a free clinic where maybe they could provide a free pregnancy test. That way you know that it was done accurately to ensure the best results. Good luck and let us know what happens
