Q: Heart Races All the Time - Help :(

Hello all,

i wasn't really sure where to post this one as i'm not sure what it could be. I am extremely aware of my heartbeat all the time, not so much because I can feel it because I usually can't, but i'm always always checking my pulse to see how fast it's going because i'm worried that it beats too fast. All it takes is for me to take a run downstairs and my heart is racing. Even at rest it is often over 100 beats per minute (i read that 60-100 is the norm for a resting heartrate). I just think that my heart is working harder than it should be and i'm not sure what to think. I'm only 20 years old. Any ideas?

Hi
first of all,my name is peggy, and I had that problem, when I was about 23. You could have tachycardia, which is just means you have a fast heartrate.,and as long as you dont get out of breath and pass out with this, you are ok.,but,if you are that worried about it,i would say,see a doctor. Are you an anxious, and excitable person? This leads to it,too. Also, alot of caffeine. I speak this from experience, believe me,but it never hurts to see a doctor for a checkup. :d
