Q: Colonoscopy

My mother had to do a colonoscopy test in may. She did some other tests as well but since she did the colonoscopy, she has been having terrible stomach problems. She doesn't have the appetite she used to, she eats very little, very often she throws up or has the feeling that she will, she keeps on losing weight and feels terrible pain in the stomach. Her digestion is completely messed up and I don't know what she should do.

Has anyone experienced this or something similar?

Any help is appreciated!

Colonoscopy
Did she get the results back from that test?? My mom had one done in april and they found out she had colon cancer. She had the surgery in may and they removed all of the cancer. Not to worry you but I would find out the outcome of the test she had, then let her doctor know whats going on with her.

I forgot to mention the test results. Her doctor thought that it might be cancer but it was false alarm. As far as the doctor is concerned nothing is wrong with her colon, but my mother is going through such a bad period that I really don't know what to do.

Extremely eHealthy
Well, after I had my colonoscopy I also lost a lot of weight. 16 pounds I think immediately and then about 4 more after. You can lose up to like 60-70 pounds when you get a colonoscopy (of course that is if you are a big person) because they suck out all of the built up poo in your system.
But, her stomach shouldn't hurt from the procedure. The only effect that she should have had is bad gas right after. Did her doctor say anything about her maybe having irritable bowel syndrome? I have that and it can be quite painful. After my colonoscopy it did hurt worse for a while, so maybe she has this. If the pain is severe though she needs to ask her doctor if he did something wrong during the procedure that is causing her this pain.

It seems that my mother is having a problem with the hernia. Maybe this is the cause of her problems. She'll have it checked out. Hopefully it'll be for the better.
