Have you tried aromatherapy? I don't have my books with me in this town to mention all of them that are good for asthma, so perhaps you can google some info or contact your local health food store. But there are herbs you can add to your bath and the aroma and steam can help.

I know many cultures have used sage. Usually they burn it and sweep the smell to their nasel and inhale.

I personally smoke white sage when I try to quit smoking tobacco..Mind you smudging sage not cooking sage!!! Smudging sage as in what you see indians using for example. And I can attest that is has in fact allowed me to breathe better! Even though this sounds like an oxymoron!

If you're open to trying to smoke and inhale it... Do not smoke any sage with cedar or any other herb combined with it...Do research first...Some herbs you can add...Others I wouldn't inhale like a cigarette. I roll it in cigarette papers.

Okay...I just did a test! I have a ton of sage here...Ironicaly my lungs have been a bit tight today...Just by smelling the sage alone without it on fire, I feel a huge ease of tightness! I just smoked a few hits and I can't tell if smoking it helped improve my lungs any better than smelling it unignited, but I certainly feel better than before!

Alright...Follow up! Smile

i noticed some immediate relief when...As I explained in last post, but after 30-45 mins ??? My lungs are breathing way much easier than before! So perhaps it takes some extra time than results one may find immediately from "whiteman" inhalers? I can feel the cooling sensation from the sage still in my lungs.

I've never tested smoking sage while i'm still smoking tobacco. But I can attest, some days i'm afraid to do anything too active and today was pretty much the same case, and I feel terrific now!

Asthma
Hi, my first message..I have heard that prolonged injestion of glyconutrionals have eased asthma sufferers. Also drinking enough water daily is a very inexpensive way to lessen the attacks. 8 glasses of water, not juice or coffee. Well that's my two cents worth

Asthma and bronchitis
--- an usefull article from edit

it is a widely prevalent disease, affecting the young, old and even the children. Today millions people suffer from this disease. The most disheartening aspect of asthma is that it does not get completely cured through medicines. Asthma is defined as a disease characterized by an increased responsiveness of the trachea and bronchi to various stimuli, and is manifested by widespread narrowing of the airway passage that changes in severity either spontaneously or as a result of treatment. Attacks are brought on by the spasms of the smooth muscles that lie in the walls of the smaller bronchi and bronchioles, causing the passageways to close partially. The patient has trouble exhaling and 'the alveoli may remain inflated during expiration.

Usually the mucus membranes that line the respiratory passageways become irritated and secrete severe excessive amount of mucus that may clog the bronchi and bronchioles and worsen the attacks.

Symptom

difficulty in breathing.

Strain in exhaling the air. The asthmatic has to try hard for just getting a breath. In severe cases, the life of the patient becomes miserable and it makes him almost invalid. In medical terms the complicated condition of asthma is called emphysema.

Cause

asthma might also have a psychosomatic origin.

Attacks of asthma involve both physical and psychological factors. It may be triggered by

emotions, environmental extremities (extreme cold exposures) and viral infections. Asthmatic

attacks may also be generated and triggered in brain itself.

If a person is allergic to particular thing, merely looking at such things brings asthmatic attack.

By regular exercise of yogasana and pranayama the constriction of the bronchial tubes gets very much reduced. Slowly the capacity of bronchial tubes increases to a great extent. By this type of performance one can control the attack of asthma to a great extent and subsequently gradually asthma can be cured from the roots.

Yoga treatment for asthma

the asthma and bronchitis patients have to do three things:

(i) regular practice of selected yoga asanas,

(ii) proper diet,

(iii) observance to certain principles and advice

asanas

ekpada uttan asana

tada asana

yoga mudra

ushtra asana

simha asana

sarvang asana

matsya asana

shava asana.

Pranayaman

ujjayee pranayama

beside the above mentioned asana and pranayama practice of yoga nidra, concentration and meditation gives the best result.

Principles and advice

asthmatics should follow the following principles and advice in their diet and daily life for their highest good.

Have dinner at least two hours before going to bed at night.

Don’t over eat.

Eat slowly and chew the food properly.

Should drink water after half an hour of finishing their meals.

Intake ten to twelve glasses of water in a day.

Avoid hot spices, red pepper and pickles, tea or coffee.

Don’t drink water upon arising and before going to toilet.

Avoid tobacco in any form.

Benefits

asanas and pranayama have corrective, curative and strengthening effects on the condition of the lungs and the bronchiole linings.

Pranayama does the internal purification. As we know that air has some fantastic properties like absorbing property. It absorbs certain things as moisture, fragrance and odour. When air is kept in the body for a longer time, it absorbs the impurities of the system and when it is expelled with a force it carries those inner impurities out. Further, when external pleasure is given it maximizes the inner penetration of the air and enables it to rub, activate and give inner massage to the body cells and organs.

Complementary Way
Hello everyone,

there are some great ways to relieve the symtoms of asthma and bronchitis. Most people would agree that a change in lifestyle with exercise, supplementation, and the food we eat can have a big impact on your improvement.

Talking to over 25 people with the same problem several of them have done significant changes in their lifestyle. A lot of them have tried glyconutritionals and have had huge improvements including not even needing an asthma puffer. I am not promising you that these nutrients will work but it can't hurt to do some research on it and talk to some people who have had results.

From what I have learned, a lot of people would most likely want to know about glyconutrients from a 3rd party stand point to see if these nutrients can truley help them.

Best of health

Another Way
Hi,

you can try edit like:

1. Asthma treatment: put half a teaspoon of licorice root tea in a cup of hot water, wait 10 minutes, strain and drink.
2. Blend radish, honey and lemon juice in a blender. Mix for 20 minutes and cook in pan on low heat. Take one teaspoon in the morning everyday.
3. Yemeni med: put one teaspoon of grind fenugreek seeds (hilba) in a glass of boiling water, add sugar or honey and drink 3 times daily.
4. Go somewhere where the air is cold and just sit, relax and take deep breaths.

There a lot more tips at the edit.

Actually, there is nothing to lose, it's free and there are so many ways.

Another, place you can check is edit which is another site dedicated to alternative medicines.

Good luck

Purity of Your Drinking Water
As our body is nearly 70% water, water should not be neglected at any cost. It should be kept pure all the time. But man’s greed has ignored this vital truth and through rapid industrialization, reckless construction and deforestation has done irreparable damage to our life-supporting system. Nowadays, most of the potable water is polluted with various kinds of chemicals and heavy metals are making inroads into our body as life-threatening particles. At present, people are heavily dependent on home water filters as the water we drink daily has become chemical cocktail that can easily destroy our nervous system.
So need to confirm that your drinking water is safe? Otherwise it may be a cuase because observation shows 95% of Ameriacnas are suffering from water problem deseases.

Remedy-1
Take 1 tablespoon of sunflower or corn oil before retiring for the night. Helps you to breathe easier during the night.

Remedy-2
Cut an onion into very thin slices and place in a bowl. Cover the onion slices with honey and let sit overnight. The next day; scrape the honey from the onion slices and take 1 teaspoon 3-4 times daily.
