Q: Need Info On Pop Pills progestrin only

I recently started progestrin only pills. I was looking for pills that contained as low a hormone as possible so opted for these. I am curious though how the hormone porgestrin affects your body. Do you still ovulate on these. I was told the pop's just thicken your cervical mucus so sperm can't penetrate for some reason this doesn't make me feel real secure. I hope the pop's don't cause problems for me like so many other combined pills. Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks

I have not tried the pills so I am not sure how different it will be for you, however I am on depoprovera shots which is progesterone only as well. I kept having too many problems with estrogen (chronic yeast infections, etc). The worst problem is the regulating of your period. The pill may be different because you are taking a given dose each day. With the shot you can bleed for weeks, which I did, but now I haven't had a period in several months. However the side effects of the other pills are no longer there.
