I'm sorry to hear about that.
Oddly enough, that was part of the reason I was in the hospital. I don't think I have told everyone why I was in the hospital, but if I have, please forgive me for double posting.
On monday afternoon(two weeks ago tomorrow), I began throwing up and having diarrhea. At first it was nothing out of the ordinary. I did this all the time. However, after the tenth visit to the restroom; well you get the idea. All in all, I threw up between 25-30 times. After this much stress on my body, I blacked out. Tipped right over...My husband and an oncall doctor insisted that I go to the closest er. I did. Unfortuntely, I was so sick that I started having lupus symptoms too. I went stiff, was running a low grade fever, and the pain was at least an 8 out of a 10.
I went back (and was actually apologized for being made to wait) and within 2 mimutes (no kidding here) they had pulsed me with steroids and a much relaxing pain killer.
Then, they sent me upstairs because the admitted me. I had test after test after test.
Eventually, it was determined that I had ulcers and gastritis. It was assumed that I had the ulcer from long term steroid usage, but luckily the doctor went ahead and did some biopsies.
Friday afternoon, I was informed that I had an infection of the h.Pylori bacteria (the most common type of bacteria that causes ulcers). So they started me on this high dose antibiotics...And will repeat the procedure in six weeks.
They also told me that this constant running to the bathroom (everytime I would eat, I would have to go to the bathroom within minutes and it was always diarrhea) was probably because of the ulcers and gastritis.
So that is my story...Thanks for reading!
