Hi, my father, 59, has to hight blood sugar levels in the morning, today it was 136mg/dl. He wasn't diagnosed for diabetes yet, but I guess he should do something to make his blood sugar levels lower. At the moment he is on diet, he reduced calories to loose on wieght, but i'm still worried about his sugar levels. Yesterday he ate 23 exchanges, instead, as usual about 36. Could you please help me and advice, what and how should he eat to make his sugar levels lower. I have no idea about that, because I do have reactive hypoglycemia without diabetes.

Greetings katarzyna

Hello, your father should avoid white rice, potatoes, sugar, white bread, and focus more on lean protein and fruits and vegetables to keep his blood sugar down, his is not too high, but a little higher than it should be.
