Was a book written by a person a young lady with schizophrenia back in the 60 's and became a national best seller . I am most impressed with her real life psychiatrist, dr freida reichman - fromm . The book gives each the patient and the doctor pen names of course but freida fromm 's husband erich fromm wrote, the art of loving in 1956 which next to the bible of course is the best I 've ever read . Frieda & Erich
Fromm, both renowned psychologists of their times, and ours, as well, and this brings up a good question ! Just because we 're living in the new millenium does that mean we should only listen to the most current authors on the new york times bestseller list or should we read and re - read the authors who we find the most truth in ? Such as erich fromm for me . He was a social psychologist . And, erich 's wife, frieda fromm - riechman . She was a psychiatrist who specialized in schizophrenia . And, we also have now, frieda fromm - riechman 's patient who the book refers to as " dorothy " but, gives a pen name of "joann greenberg " and, I believe her real name was hannah green ? Anyway, please , look up, I never promised you a rose garden, which was written by one of frieda fromm 's patients, who was diagnosed with schizophrenia . The book calls frieda fromm - riechman, " dr fried " . Frieda fromm 's speciality was that of schizophrenia . The book I believe was written or first published in '64 and then published again in '72 ? Or close to those dates, anyway . So, but if you want current stuff only just leave it on your coffee table beside your dusty bible . Peace love woodstock laura

Extremely eHealthy
I haven't read either fromm but have heard of them both & I totally agree that too many people throw away ideas/books/people simply because they're not "new" or modern or young. Instead of stopping to read, listen etc & consider whether what is said/written is useful/good etc.
