Is It Too Early?
Posted: 07-31-04 12:49pm

Just wondering...
I took a pregnancy test the weekend after I was supposed to get my period...Cause I didn't get it... And it was negative. I was supposedto get it on wednesday and took the test on saturday morning. I bought one of those tests that said you could take it 5 days before your missed period. Well the test was negative. Does anyone think that it was too soon to take the test to get a correct answer? Maybe I am just being nervous. I am supposed to get my next period in two weeks. Confused

Hi, amanda!Thoses hpt tests are pretty accurate if used correctly(almost impossible to mess them up!).If you are that concerned,go see your doctor. You did not mention if you are on birth control currently. If you are not,ask your doc about that also.If you are, review your method with your doc and see if you should change your method.Hope everything works out for you.Patty

I think the preg. Test would be accurate if you used it correctly... You could always go to the doctor and get a test if you're worried about it Smile

I had a friend who took five of those hpt's over a period of three months and they all came out negative. She even got the urine tests at the clinic along with a pelvic and they kept telling her she wasn't pregnant. Well, she was pregnant. Some women do not get high levels of the hormone detected in hpt's as quickly as others, so if you really want to know then you need to get a blood test. God luck.
