Well, what people have to realize is that your body (most people's, anyway) is sued to getting around 13 periods a year and when you suddenly try to supress that, then bad things could happen. That's why the makerers of seasonale says breakthrough bleeding is common when starting it. Infact, breakthgrough bleeding is common when startinbg any contraceptive, it's just a matter of minimazing it until your body can control it. I'm on ortho tri cyclen lo and it's one of the pills that has the fewest occurences of breakthrough bleeding. Only 20% (yeah, taht still sounds like a lot but oh well) have breakthrough bleeding in the first month. I did. Now i'm in my second and so far, no bleeding whatsoever. Guess I was just part of the 20%. In month two, only about 10% have breakthrough bleeidng and of course, if you have it by the 3rd month you may need a new pill. Getting the right hormone levels is kind of trials and error untril you get it right and it can get to be extermly annoying. I know I wanted to just die after getting off depo and on the pill and still bleeding.
I know some doctors have a manual of diff. Pills to try based on hormone levels and what may work. I also thought seasonale was a low dose pill anyway so putting you on another low dose pill may not work.
