I want to know how many moms breastfeed here and how many bottle feed. I tried to breastfeed my son but failed (he refused to latch on) and I am currently breastfeeding my daughter Smile

if you haven't had a baby yet, mark what you plan to do.

I started out breastfeeding but I had eclampsia and was in icu so we had to start bottle feeding her. I could've gone back to breastfeeding but they said there was a chance that some of the morphine could get through to her and I didn't want that. She did really well with the bottle too and I didn't want to confuse her.

I'm with heather.I won't even try breastfeeding when I have a child. I think it's appalling the way nurses here force women to breastfeed in hospital-my cousins wife had a baby girl pollyanna a few weeks ago & she was in for 3days & they made her breastfeed & were horrible to her when she said she didn't want to

Yeah I dont think it's right to force anything on any new mother. But I have read all the benefits you can gain from breatsfeeding for the baby and you. But then again I dont have first hand experiance, so I guess I might change my mind lol

yeah, it's a mothers choice what she does. I think it'd be great if every mom at least tried breastfeeding--though I don't think it should be forced.

Im gonna try to breastfeed, even if its only for a few days... Just to help lose the weight, give the baby its first nutrients (cuz of colostrum) and basically just to save some money for the first week or so Smile hehe! Then i'll switch to formula later lol!

Im going to try my hardest to breast feed for as long as I can. I know its very hard, but I have all the time in the world to perfect the art of breast feeding. Im going to be pumping and storing the milk in the freezer also, in case something comes up where I cant breast feed. I really dont want to give my baby forumla so im going to try my absolute hardest. I think it is a very important thing for my baby.

that's fantastic. I totally regret not trying harder to do it with my son.

I have 18 3-5 ounce containers in my freezer right now. Who knows if i'll ever even use it!

I breast feed my daughter up until she was 21 months, she is 23 months now ...

Breast milk has so many health benefits, my daughter hardly was sick.

But it's not for some girls becuz of school and work but I was blessed to where I can do internet school at home.

I mean I have time to do it because now I got the schooling twice a week and its at night but I just dont feel comfortable doing it. I dunno if that sounds weird or not but I dunno I just wouldnt feel right letting my baby suck on my nipples. I know that might sound wrong but I dunno...Lol. We got on (caps) wic because of the formula so we dont have to worry about payin for it...Thats a benefit on our half.

hooray! I was afraid to say something about extended nursing. I'm prtety sure i'm going to let my daughter self wean though I don't think i'd ever be one of those people who is still nusring their 6 year old. I see nothing wrong with doing it into toddlerhood though!

Yay for you! How old are you may I ask?

I dont want to sound like a perve but I was scared to breastfeed because I like to have nipple attention and stuff. So I just felt that it was better to bottlefed. I know that I would have never looked at sean in that way, but I wanted larry to still be able to touch me there, and sean turned out healthy.
